Tan like a Killians, not what you would expect from a scottish ale. Very smooth with a little bite at the end. Noticeable toasted malts fo a light coffee over tones. Not a typical scottish ale, but still noteworthy.

(Draft: Liberator Brewing in Troutdale, OR) Very light for a Scottish Ale, this is a pretty tame interpretation of the style. Lightly malty, hinting of gentle roast, and mildly bitter, this really doesn’t come close to a Scottish Ale, at least not the type I like. Could be an amber or light brown ale to most people. Mildly malty and toasty nose, but lacking in overall aromatics. Light-to-medium bodied, way too thin for the style it claims to be. Off-white head fades to a ring and leaves no lace on the glass. Boring and thin on body and flavor, move on.

Amber with a creamy head and sheet lacing. Caramel and biscuits in the nose. Nutty with earthy hops. Light bitter notes in the flvaor with mostly floral hops. Caramel and nuts. Finishes malty.

Weird 3-tierd body during the pour. Clear, dark brown changes to fluffy dark tan changes to a clean, white head. Harsh but uncarbonated, it seems, flat, sour, lactic... a little bite in the finish, with some maple, nuts and corn.

Dark brown color. Small head. Aroma is peaty and grainy. A medium bodied scottish ale. Malts are fruity and sweet. Malts are fruity and sweet, touches of raisins, brown sugar. Hops are slightly bitter. Nicely sweet, molasses and brown sugar. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

RBSG 2004, on nitro tap: Clear orange with a cascading head. Malty grain aroma, starts sweet and ends a little sweeter. Medium bodied, creamy texture, soft carbonation.

Tap. Neat three-layer pour that cools cool. Reddish-brown; little discernerable aroma except for some maltiness. Some nice woody sweetness in the end makes this very pleasant to drink. Smooth, not much of an alcohol taste.
