pineypower (1076), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA Aug 29, 2009 Tap at the steakhouse. Pours out a slightly cloudy reddish copper color with a small lacing white head. Slight sweet malts on the aroma, but not a whole lot going on aroma-wise. Taste is of some sweet malts, slight hops, little bit of caramel, drinkable, especially on a 90+ degree day like the one I was just there. dmschefke (371), Eastpointe, Michigan, USA Apr 27, 2009 Pours an expected deep red with medium white head. Aroma of hops with a malt balance, caramel, and grain. Taste is similar, Overall a nice beer. decaturstevo (1971), decatur, Tennessee, USA Feb 27, 2009 Hazed deep amber pour. Not much aroma at all. Semi sweet malt with light bittering finish. Foamy and thin took away from it for me. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Feb 7, 2009 NC on tap-pours a light tan head and copper color. Aroma is mild medium malt. Taste is sweet medium malt-some hops with slight bite then some metallic.
sloth (1657), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA Sep 2, 2008 From the sampler, thank christ. Small white head thats short lived, light spotty lacing. Clear amber with a light red glow. Nose is lightly malty, biscuity, earthy. Light bodied, low carbonation, somewhat grainy. Lightly malty, caramel hints, dusty.
Finish is quick with dry malts and a faint fruitiness. NachlamSie (1630), Tennessee, USA Aug 21, 2008 Draught. This is red. The description sure sounds good to me. However, the most striking thing about it after an analysis is its similarity to their nut brown ale. The malt qualities sport much of the same nut/toast thing going on. I’d say a dash of biscuit character may be found. Not much at all in the way of hops, perhaps the finish could be considered grassy. Really, it’s not bad. meh. jb (1023), Rochester, New York, USA May 31, 2008 Red color, nice lacing, thin head, smoky palate, nutty aroma, malty, doughy . Hard to come up with much to say about these Irish Ales. They do their part for session drinking. bubbleflubber (885), Collinsville, Virginia, USA Dec 30, 2007 On tap at Liberty... Amber pour with soapy lace. It has a sweet malty nose. There is a good mix of pale malt and caramel. The finish holds a decently bitter back, but the mouthfeel is off. The palate is thin, due to overcarbonation, and the watery body just doesn’t stand in proportion to the rest of the brew. So-so offering... certainly not the worst of the bunch I sampled at the brewpub.
