| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 18, 2005 Pours a nice deep ruby amber color with a small, quickly dissapating amount of whitish head. Aroma is malty and slightly dark fruity. Flavor is rather mild, a bit malty, a bit cheryish, but no dominant flavor. Overall, I found it to be a decent brew. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Jul 23, 2004 Draft @ the brew pub: Hazy reddish copper w/’ a thin white head; laces well. Highly grassy, herbal hop nose on first sniff, low on maltiness as well as roastiness. Very light hints of fruitiness and caramel malt, but only as it warms. Flavor is lightly malty w/ a stronger hop flavor than in the aroma; some light tartness from carbonation. Finish is lightly malty w/a hop aftertaste; No roast and very little caramel. Drier m/f w/ moderate carb., lighter medium body. Not as smooth & rich flavored as I’d hoped it would be. Seems more of an APA than a red ale. Still missing caramel character in either case, but it still beats drinking macro swill.
