dmschefke (371), Eastpointe, Michigan, USA Apr 28, 2009 Pours a cloudy orangish gold with a thin white head. Aroma obvious of wheat and slight spice. Flavor matches aroma. Not bad, but nothing I would care to order again. cheapdark (2011), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 20, 2009 At myrtle beach. Cloudy orangish hefe look. Has a mild hefe aroma. Good carbonation. Friendly brew, is fun. No detectable bitterness and I like that. Nice overall brew, I dig a good non-bitter hefe. Easy finsih. Didi not put lemon in mine. Good overall experience, glad I got to try it. Headbanger (1574), Aurora, Illinois, USA Sep 10, 2008 16oz Draft(Liberty Tap Room & Grill Myrtle Beach)-A hazy orangish yellow with an aroma of nothing. Taste of wheat and nothing else. No banana or cloves. A little weak. I believe this was New South because Liberty Brewery does not keg. tupalev (2605), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Mar 24, 2008 Growler, about 5 days old, from the brewpub (SC). Neat hazy dark yellow, medium thin white head - certainly looks unfiltered. Grainy aroma, hint of yeast. Taste - ok - foamy mouthfeel is pleasant but the taste is pretty bland - grainy and a bit pof yeasty - pretty weak. Mouthfeel makes it refreshing, but that is about all here. jetboy (32), USA Jan 5, 2008 This is truly one of my favorites. I live close to the place and nothing, I mean nothing beats this beer on a warm June night at the outdoor beer garden before a Myrtle Beach Pelicans game. This beer has a beautiful cloudy appearance and tremendous aroma of wheat, spices and fruitiness. The mouthfeel though is my favorite quality about this beer. It fills your mouth without filling your gut. Awesome!!!
bubbleflubber (885), Collinsville, Virginia, USA Dec 30, 2007 This was on tap, brewed as "Deep River Wheat" (same beer, different name) at Liberty. Cloudy, straw pour, with nice retention and soapy lace. Nice straw-grain and wheat notes in the nose... the bouquet gets better as it opens up. Unfortunately, the best part of the brew has passed. Wheat flavors are interrupted by overhopping, and a "cut" of pale biscuity malt. Citrus notes get lost easily, as well as any depth or complexity. The dry bitter back accompanies a crisp mouthfeel. The bitters are just too detracting for the style... May be "based" on a German hefe, but is definitely an American take on it. Just underwhelming. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 12/17/2006

scraff (1921), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Aug 27, 2006 Straw color, white fizzy head. Nose was wheaty, lemony, and touches of earth. Flavor matched with a light hop bitterness in the end. Light bodied, fizzy carbonation, lemon wheat finish. No further comments....
