Lubiere (3324), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Sep 22, 2008 A hazy orange amber with a thin white head. Aroma of sweet malt, orange peels, and light rosewater. In mouth, a nice crisp sweet malt with light sugary finish, coriander and orange peels. Classic. Medium bodied. Bieropholie import. Borresteijn (582), Amstelveen, Netherlands Aug 12, 2008 Hazy golden/orange, white head. Aroma of yeast, orange, spices. Flavour is dry, orange, citrus, spices, yeast and malts. A bit watery, nothing special. Doggythedog (1018), Split, Croatia Jul 19, 2008 Bottle bb Nov 2011, courtesy of and shared with heavy (thanks!) Lovely murky orange-apricot body. Fluffy white head that went away slowly. Sourish agrumey yeasty nose, some dust. Hm. Light, slightly sourish and dusty taste, some sweet maltiness. Slightly vinuous later on Balanced but a bit too light and no real typical Tripel flavors except maybe some weak agrumes. All too ordinary for the style. heavy (503), Split, Croatia Jul 14, 2008 #401... 0.33 l bottle from belgianshop.com. This turquoise nun poured murky orange to golden body with big white head. Orange aroma, pretty sharp, spiced with cinnamon and some honey. It’s yeasty, just like in the flavor, which is hanging between sour and bitter all the time. Orange peel, bit of lemon, some mild spices are components of its full body. Alcohol is very well hidden. Sharp and strong finish. Although it have many school characteristics of the style, it’s not so typical, as it’s quite sharp with its sourness and bitterness, so many won’t like it. It’s more than fine for me so I’m happy to choose 3 Abdis to note my 400th rating. Quinten (710), zaandam, Netherlands Jun 28, 2008 At vonk slijterij zaandam (nl) Golden/red, fruits, carbonation, nice to drink but nothing special.
