My intent was to save this bottle for a special occasion because this company went out of business recently, but I just couldn’t help myself. This beer is so very delicious it beckoned and I heeded the call. This beer pours a burgundy, magenta color with a fluffy pinkish head. It smells a little bit like funky cherries, but man, oh man, is it delicious. The mild carbonation highlights the sweet cherry flavor with just a hint of sourness. If I could ask for one thing in this beer it would be for it to be a little more tart. I am really going to miss this beer when I can no longer find it at my local beer store. I would serve this beer with most any dessert--vanilla ice cream is particularly delightful pairing.

I haven’t tried a lot in the way of "fruit beers" if you will but this one was quite nice. It wasn’t overly sweet which for me made it quite enjoyable. Pours a deep red with I’d say medium carbonation. Small white head. Flavour of sour cherry which you may expect. Decent beer for sure.

Re-rate 5/6/09: Sample from a bottle brought by some guy from Moortgat to Ma’abarot beer festival. Cherries, lots of sugar and very mild sourness. Medium-bodied. 7/3/7/3/14=3.4

(2/29/08) Bottle at Kulminator in Antwerp. 2003 bottle. Deep reddish brown color with a small off white head. Cherries, some wood and a bit of sugar in the aroma. Sweet flavor of cherries, a bit of marzipan, sugar, and a bit of acidity and notes of wood. medium-bodied. Not bad and quite enjoyable but lacks a more decent amount of acidity. 7/3/6/3/13=3.2

bottle... thin fizzy head that dissipates fairly quickly... aroma is heavy cherry with a bit of funk... nice sourness with a sweet finish.

Draft @ Pizzeria Paradiso - Georgetown. Pours a murky, hazy raspberry color; thin off-white, pinkish head with patchy lacing. Pleasant amount of tart raspberries and cherries and pitty red fruits in the aroma; very nice, slightly tart fruit character. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: average levels of carbonation; pitty cherries and strawberries and raspberries; some funk and breadiness at the core; solid, very drinkable fruity beer. Medium finish: breadiness and some light cherries.

A red-coloured and fresh kriek with stong notes of cherry - both swet and a bit acidity. Very good.

At LCBO with cork. Sour winey grapey cherry acidic aroma. Reddish brown murky colour with a slight white head that disappears to just a few bubbles. Intense taste of tart cherries that hits you over the head with a hint of grape aftertaste. Sweet and sour but a little too sweet for me.

Bottle. Pours out a dark red color with a fluffy yellowish / white colored head. Smell is full of cherries and some oak flavors. Not much going on here other than the cherries. Taste is very much full of cherries, but there is a nice sour kick to it too. Most beers I have had from these guys arent the best, but this one was pretty good actually. I would drink it again.
