Mar 11, 2008 2007 on cork. Thin collapsing head. Oxidized red ochre color. Tangy candy like aroma, not alot of funk- but its there. Full dark cherry fruit flavor, nice acidic hit, but nowhere nearly as acidic as some of my favorites, like DeRanke and Oud Beersel. This strikes me as middle ground between the cloying Krieks and the assertively sour Krieks. A nice treat, but would not consider it necessary to keep on hand in the cellar.

Mar 10, 2008 I had this in Belgum and just last weekend in St. Paul. Both times were fun and worth remembering, so I reached for the Kriek. So smoooth and cherrieful, without being too sweet.

Mar 9, 2008 Nice garnet-ruby color with a one-finger head that fades to a spotty covering of bubbles.
Smell is great, sweet and sour cherries really come out with a slight musty funk, almost horseblanket.
Very similar in taste to the aroma. Tart, yet sweet, cherry, some plum with some interesting sour funk underneath. Sweet is well-balanced by tartness.
Fine bubbles make the high carbonation rather pleasant. Nice, moderate body feels substantial. Very drinkable if you don’t mind some sweetness.

Mar 2, 2008 Bottle at St. Veronus. The first kriek I’ve had. Nose is strongly of cherries, mild spices. Flavour is sweet, tart and finishes sour with a powerful flavour of cherry that is simply irresistible. This is one beer I’ll definitely be looking out for again.

Feb 21, 2008 Sour, and sweet. Not super-sweet, but certainly sweet and not dry. Very sour fruity aroma as well. Good stuff.

Feb 20, 2008 pours a dark cloudy copper red with a one finger fluffy light tan red head. aroma is dark sweet and tart cherries with skins and a little oak, yeast, and vanilla. has a medium body with good lacing and carbonation. flavor is the same as aroma but stronger. also has a little dry aftertaste. really nice! the cherries also sit on the tongue for a bit and the flavor is not lost at any point.

Feb 18, 2008 On tap at Max’s. Brown-pink pour with a white head. Intense cherry aroma. Slight sour taste with lots of cherry. Not nearly as sour or complex as other lambics, and a bit too sweet and syrupy for my taste. Overall still enjoyable and drinkable.

Feb 18, 2008 375ml Bottle: Great packaging with a sweet paper wrapping and such, certainly makes it stand out. Not sure why but I was surprised to find it so dark on the pour, a deep copper ruby brown with a two-finger cream head. Aroma is lots of sour cherries, some noticeable bitter hops. Flavour is more beer than fruit, which is always exciting, offering a rich maltiness and tons of tart cherry, and a non-cloying nice sweetness. This is well done!
