Disappointed. Aroma is cherries, alcohol, red wine, and some light cookie malts. Pours like a frothy soda, appears over carbonated. The color is a very dark hazy red with an off-white (in the purple direction) largish frothy head. Taste is cherry soda with barely and a sour finish. Not my cup of tea. "Palate" is dry texture with extreme carbonation.

Dark red with tiny head. Aroma is mostly sweet dominated by cherries and light sour barnyard notes. Sweet flavor with cherries. A little on the sweet side...

Bottle from the LCBO. Hazy red brown body with a small beige head. (3+) Big fruity tart cherry aroma, very light tart funk. (6+) Light sweet medicinal note. Similar flavour to the aroma, sweet tart cherries. Smooth average to medium palate. (3+)

From bottle at Paters Vaetje, Antwerpen. Dark reddish brown with a medium offwhite head. Sweet and sour fruit nose, quite a bit of cherry. Sweet cherry flavours, some marcipane and almonds. Well-hidden sourness. Good carbonation. Sweeter than I could recall from before, but still complex and enjoyable.

375 split w/ dpjuart. A red-orange color with a very thin pinkish head. Nose of sweet fruity bread baking and cherries with a bit of a sour bite. A very sweet and sour cherry flavor, but surprisingly, it is the sweetness that stays on the tongue. Light and fizzy flavor of champagne with cherry liquor.

350 ml split with Naka. Pours red amber w/ white head that rings the glass after it dissipates. Nose is sweet w/ cherry and some malt. Tast is sour and sweet cherry throughout, with a caramel malty sweetness, slightly towards the end. The after is a lingering sour, like Sour Patch Kids.

2006, i think. pours a dark purple/brown color with a small off-white head. sour cherry aroma. flavor is cherry. slightly medicinal(cough medicine) at times. not extremely sour or sweet. a good balanced beer from an impressive brewery.

Draft at Tyler’s, Durham. Figured I ought to try this one, since I saw the threads about the brewery possibly crapping out. I’m very glad I did. Poured thick and creamy into a nice snifter, the aroma is quite strong and astringent - dare I say, it was almost cough drop-like! The cherries here were definitely sweeter and slightly more bitter, than the darker, fuller, rounder kind I prefer. But it’s still a might fine beer, with malt complexity and a big body. Good stuff.
