Aroma is potent, with a lot of red wine and cherries radiating from this scarlet-red brew. Taste is not sweet at all, combining a taste of tart, sour, and earthy cherries. Finish is smooth and bubbly with more red wine lingering in your mouth. 6% ABV is good for a fruit beer, allowing it to be flavorful but not too sweet.

25 cL bottle. Pours dark brown and with a reddish hue, completely diminished off-white head. Sulphorish dry aroma of cherries and with a solid caramel note too. Flavour starts acidic and leads into a sweet caramel malt heavy flavour. Ends sweet and acidic at once. Nice.

Corked and caged green bottle. 2006 cork, sampled 1 Dec 07. Deep red pour with a thick, rocky pink-tinged head. Aroma strongly of sour cherries with medium tart and acidity. Taste is sharp and robust, sour and tangy notes but dominated by sweetness; luckily, though, the sugar never goes too far, never cloys. Actually, this is pretty well-balanced. Dry, sour cherry note in the aftertaste. Explosively fruity with just a touch of leather. Full tart body, medium strength carbonation with just enough going on to make it interesting. Fun, refreshing kriek!

Bottle. Body-dark almandine reddish brown with a one inch foamy light brown head. Nose-tart cherries, urea, sour mash candy, tootsie rolls. Taste-light funk, earthy/dirt, not sweet, caramel, prickly CO2, lightly corky, cherry tootsie pops.

A nice sour ale. Aroma of sour cherries. Pour was a dark brown with a nice 4 finger off white head that lasted about half the drink. Taste was all sour cherries with hint of sweetness coming in and out. I was expecting something a bit more sour, but this was good for what it was.

Second time drinking this, first time in Brussels, this time, purchased from the LCBO. First time drinking it I had it in a snifter, this time, a tall beer glass. Typical paper wrapping and unlabled bottle associated with this beer/beer type. Aroma is a sweet/sour cherry bouquet with a malty accent and hints of yeast at the end. The flavour is tart with a strong cherry taste and a heavy semi-dry ale finish. Palate is a medium-heavy body with a soft carbonation and a large constant thin head around .5cm. Excellent beer, comparatively steep price a the LCBO but would purchase again.

Good stuff. Yummy cherry flavor without being too fruity. But it still has a good beer flavor that stays in your mouth.plalette is quite lively. Color is like cranberry juice- not murky like some fruit beers. . Ilike it alot.

375ml bottle from the LCBO. Unmarked, but wrapped in nice decorative papaer and corked. Poured a murky purple colour, with a pink head that died pretty quickly. Aroma of cherries and wheat. The flavour reminded me of a cider, because the fruitiness of the sour cherries gave way to a nice dry finish. A nice beer, but not something I’d usually go for this time of year, and at $5 the price is a bit on the steep side.
