No head to speak of and the colour is rather unfortunate: looks just like rotten cherries.
The smell is citric cherry sweet all the way, so you hesitate to sip in case all your teeth fall out.... but relax; the taste makes everything fine: subtle cherry tastes ranging from bitter, unripe cherries to ugly, overripe fat ones (explains the colour) and you keep roaming from cheery salty-sweetness to organic, earthy hues. Yes! I like this beer!
37.5 cl champagne bottle. Didn’t like it as much as the small bottle as it seems to loose a lot of spark. Capa (993), Yokosuka, Japan

While browsing Sugaya’s beer selection the owner (whose English is much better than my Japanese) asked me a few questions about my beer preferences, then brought me a pint of this beer! The only way to make buying beer more fun is with a free pint of something good to sip on while doing it. Will remain a favorite beer of mine for the experiance if nothing else.
Aroma is tart cherries, and sorta sugary sweet. Flavor is similar to the aroma with the sugar drowning out some of the sour cherry. Finishes slightly sour. Medium body. Goes down easy, pretty good. daniele (1750), Italy

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 19, 2007 The aroma is sour and tart with cherries, sugar, and funky yeast. The appearance is dark red with a pink foamy head. The flavor is not bad but not great. It’s a lot like the aroma. The palate is smooth but thin. Overall it’s OK. swoopjones (1923), Buffalo, New York, USA

Flavor is tart, but with a lingering sweetness. Full-bodied, but not the cherry aspect isn’t overwhelming, it’s more subtle. Great beer, but at $6 cdn a bottle, a bit pricey. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 15, 2007 375ml bottle. Murky reddish brown with a beige head. The taste and aroma were both of tart sour cherries. Medium body with good carbonation. Particles at the bottom of the glass when the beer was done. Probably the best kriek Ive had so far.
