Tap, The Wenlock: With my London guide Duff. Sour, alcohol soaked cherries dominate the aroma. Very sweet cherry flavours are balanced nicely by a quenching sourness. It’s really alla bout the cherries though.

2005. very tart sour and rich, a bit heavy i like it not very sweet. all around pretty good its nice to pull one out with a chick.

pours red with a pale pink head smells like sour cherries. has a pleasant sourness with a small trace of sherry in the swallow. i like this it’s not too fruity it’s light and has good carbonation

Nice dark amber/red color,small but red head that had a decent hang time then faded slowly to leave a slight lace behind.The aroma was cherry with a noticeable sourness coming through.The flavor was cherry and fairly sour maybe a bit more so then the goudenband.There was a bit of an acidic side to it as well,not that it detracted from the over all flavor but it was just not expected compared to the above brew i just mentioned.It over all was not bad but i could not see myself enjoying this one quite as much as the goudenband.The flavor is there but i bit more of it and the sour is a little more pronounced,and just not quite as smooth but thats JMO.It’s definately worth trying but not one for me.

Thanks to Slander for sharing yet another oldie from 1991. Pours a clear dark cherry brown with light carbonation and a thin lasting head. Aroma is oxidized, sour cherries, sweet and some lactic sourness. Sour cherry pie flavor which is very nice, with more oxidation, dirty yeast, cork and must. Pretty good overall, and held up ok over 15 years.

Rich, cherried aroma, with something like the essence of maple here too. Gentle malts and highly spiced. The flavor matches the aroma well - except that the tartness becomes incredible - it wasn’t even hinted at the power of this sourness in the nose. Oh well, its a decent beer for sure. Definetly wild yeast qualities, but there’s something bitter and a little "off" for me.

Dark ruby pour with large chunks of sediment - complex aroma of cherry, nutmeg (and other "christmas-like" spices), raspberry, brown sugar - very sour up front, and in the finish, rounding out or "book-ending" the beer - in between is where the fun stuff happens - cherry and berries, followed by a doughy, spicy, christmas cookie-like flavor, a dash of cinnamon - there is some metallic/oxidized flavor in there somewhere, but that’s probably due to its age - a really neat beer.

Bottle: Dark rubi colour with a purple-red head. Aroma is very sweet and fruity. Taste is complex with red berries, nice malt presence all very well balanced.
