This poured a deep ruby/brown color with a tall, lively pink head. The aroma is that of deep red cherries and their sweetness, but with a sour twist. In the mouth, the beer is soft, but tart, perhaps to the point of being vinegary. The taste is cherry, sweet and fruity almost to the point of being candy-like... until halfway through and the crispy tartness hits the mouth. The finish is sweet-sour, fruity and funky. Very nice. I used to have difficulties drinking a sour, but this is GOOD.

Amber to ruby red in color with a small pinkish white head. Tart cherry sour malt aromas with a vinegar tartness around the nose. Sour raspberry malt flavor with oak and citrus tones. Medium- bodied and fizzy palate.

The beer emerges from the cork and caged 375ml green bottle a foggy vermilion color with the light tan head creamy in texture and the size average with the resultant lace a velum like curtain to drape the glass. Nose has a pleasant cherry sweetness and is backed by a noticeable sourness, with a hint of musk, crisp and clean, start sweet and the malts pleasant, the top is light to moderate in its feel to the palate. Finish is acerbic with a wild cherry tartness, quite dry and lingering aftertaste a good drinking brew tis true.

Pours a hazy red brown, pretty dark, tan head. Cherry aroma, tart yet sweet at the same time. Light balsalmic vinegar qualities. More tart than sour, making it very easy to drink, almost too easy to quaff. Very tasty, a nice balanced blend of tartness and sweetness without being overly acidic.

Decent aroma of cherries and marzipan. Hazy, red-brown coloured with a lasting off-white-brown head. Taste is initially sweet and becomes more tart to the finish. No heavy tartness; the beer remains quite smooth. Marzipan and cherries in the taste. Slightly dry aftertaste. Quite a decent, pleasant kriek.

12ish oz bottle, red wine glass. Deep red-brown body with a small and short-lived pink head. The yeast suspends easily in the bottle and offers forth rather large floaties. Lacing is non-existant. Not having much experience with cherries I think of black cherries when I smell this beer. They’re not black cherries, but close. Sweet and tart at the same time. Subtle and sweet balsamic vinegar qualitites are present. Aroma comes across a bit oaky as well, but not vinous. Very light cane sugar like aroma component. Pleasant to the nose, but nothing fantastic. The taste starts off with a nice cherry sweetness but quickly shifts to a not-quite-bracing cherry tartness that sends my saliva glands into overdrive. Virtually no bitterness on the back end. The aftertaste lingers on, still present when I lift the glass for another taste. Smooth, oily texture rests on a solid -but not overly full- body with lively carbonation. The bottom line is: as with any sour/tart beer, I suggest you roll this one around your tongue for the complete experience.

As kasteefreak noted, this is just like a sweettart, bt in a good way. The flavor is fairly balaced, but not a much as the Rodenbach red.
