Beautiful deep red-brown color small head that shrinks into a ring around the glass. Taste is a great blend of an overly sweet lambic like Lindeman’s and a sour gueze. Very well balnced and easy to drink. Aroma is nicely funky with stinky cheese, sweet tart candy, and a touch of caramel or toffe like sweetness. The aroma induced a flashback of Cuvee de Tomme. Mouthfeel is explosive with fine fizzy carbonation. I’m a big fan. TBone (6844), Pori, Finland

Hazy red-brown, small reddish head. Sour cherry aroma, slightly earthy and some leather tones. Sour kriek flavor but same time some sugar sweetness. Smooth carbonation. Sourish and sweet aftertaste. Very well-balanced and enjoyable brew. highlandlad (1275), Sydney, Australia
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 24, 2005 Beautifully balanced sour Flemish fruit beer. You could serve this as dessert, it’s so flavoursome. It poured a smokey brown colour with a moderate head of short duration. Strong aroma of sweet cherries, with the vinegary notes typical of the style. Medium-bodied and quenching but with a tart, dry finish. It has none of the mustiness of the Goudenband on which it is based - which is a relief. Lots of sweet and sour cherry flavour before that dry finish. I’m not a huge fan of the Flemish sours but this is a champion. (Bottle, champagne cork) RAYBOY01 (1864), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 19, 2005 Bottle. Thin head, color is the darkest of brown/crimson color, really a unique color, I was expecting something much lighter in color. Aroma is light sour cherries. Taste is sweet cherries all the way through to the finish, which is sour and just a little bit off (funky). Great creamy, full mouthfeel. This beer is all over the place, but comes out pretty decent. This was much less sour as to be drinkable - good actually. Nice lively carbonation and fair cherry flavor was quite enjoyable. My wife hated it though since it wasn’t like a Lindemans. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 17, 2005 Medium creamy foam of good duration. Red color steals dark. Limpid and little effervescent. Vinous cherrie’s scent. Light and sweet flavor, a lot yielded with alcoholic finish. Perceivable bitter, absent. Balanced and altogether valid. hobgoblin (163), St-Épiphane, Quebec, Canada
