Deep red/brown with a light pink head. Sour cherry nose with notes of vanilla and oak. The body is cherry also but a bit too sweet and not tart enough for my liking.

Small bottle. My 200th rating, appropriate since it was a kriek beer that first got me into the good stuff. Pours a murky brownish red colour with very little head. The aroma and taste are pleasantly sour with strong notes of cherry. NOt overly complex but a step up from belle-vue.

1985 1.5 ltr... Poured a reddish amber color with off white bubbles, no head or lacing. Funky aroma of brett, cherries leather, light vinegar; very funky, very nice. Taste was lightly tart cherry, predominantly sweet, though a light sourness was present. Smooth, with no carbonation. Thanks willblake!

On key draught from The Alex in Derby. Dark redish colour. Very sweet & quite fizzy. Doesn’t taste as strong as it’s 6% Really fruity but a bit to sugary for me

02/01/2005. 6% ABV, 375ml bottle, no label but came wrapped in Liefmans tissue paper. Purchased at regional wines and spirits. Pours a very deep red with a touch of black. Head is pink and fades away reasonably quickly. Strong sweet medicinal cherry aroma with a slight winey/vinegar. Flavour is superb, strong syrup of black cherries with a little malt, almond and vanilla. Dryish on the palate with just a little cherry aftertaste. WagglesMcFuggles notes a slight aftertaste of blood but I’ve finished my glass by now.

Bottle: (2001) Aroma is tart cherry and light vinegar. Pours a light reddish-brown with an insignificant white head. Has a watered down sour cherry flavor. Not as much vinegar as aroma would lead you to believe. Sourness increases in the finish.
