Flaor is VERY sour, sweet cherry and a bit of woodiness, and a tart, dry finish. Damn, this is sour! flutetokill (515), Fresno, California, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 24, 2004 Murky reddish/brown color with a light-pink head. The aroma was pure heaven (as far as Flemish sour ales go)...sweet/tart cherries, dusty/woody tones, slight vinegar, lemon zest, and a general mild barnyard character. The flavor was very tart...cherries, lemon, sour wood (WTF!), and a slight vinegar aftertaste. The feel was rather soft, but crisp on the tongue...dry finish. Yum yum! CampbellWilson (533), Scotland
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 23, 2004 Rocky pink lasting head, c2cm, body lightly cloudy maroon colour. Aroma biscuit/mild yeast/smoky cherry vanilla, hint of port. Pleasant medium mouthfeel, little bit sweeter than I remember but the smoky cherry flavour is good. 37.5cm wrapped bottle, room temp from Liefman’s tulip. JonR888710 (999), Cochabamba, Bolivia
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 16, 2004 I hope I’m rating the right beer. My bottle looks different but it is a 750ml w/ paper wrapping (Liefmans Kriek Oudenaarde). Pours a cloudy cherry with pink bubbles. Smells of cherries, tart, sugars and dry spices. Taste is sour cherries, vinegar, sweet fruit malt and lightly of alcohol. Aftertaste is sour and dry. I’m glad this is classified as a Flemish sour as opposed to a fruit beer, which it really is not. crazyvin (1254), New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 15, 2004 bottle-poured a unique cloudy red hue, a minimal pinkish head. A tart cherry aroma mixed with a mild malt presents on the nose. Flavour was initially sweet of cherries and malts, then became mildy tart. a bubbly presence on the tounge but in no way is this over-carbonated. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Oct 15, 2004 Bottle from Stirchley Wines and Spirits, Birmingham. Dark winey red, small pink head. Smells pretty tart and warm. Deep taste, spritzy, tart, some syrup to finish. Cherry: dryish, thick, sticky. Slight warmth in the chest. Sourness isn’t overly pronounced, but is present. Very good fruity beer - I prefer the Frombzen, but this is really cool, tasty, easy to like and has good ’beer’ credentials. I’m glad Jon enjoyed it as much as me. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 15, 2004 Bottle from Sainsburys. Large dirty pinkish colour head, settled down quite quick. Aroma is sour, cherry, and cider. Taste is .., well hold on, I’m having a road to Damascus moment, ...really nice; I’m enjoying it, against all my predispositions. It tastes of cherry, vinegar and it is very sweet, and yet its a great beer. I need to sit down.
