Aroma is moderately sweet, strong Maraschino cherry, light cherry sourness. Taste is moderately sweet, cherry, light sourness. Light-medium body, some stickiness. Certainly comparable in sweetness to the other Boomgaards, but it works better in this instance. Still hard to think of it as something other than a soda. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Sep 25, 2006 From 375mL Bottle, 2005 Vintage. Pours a deep, transparent, ruby red color with a tall, foamy, well sustaining head of pink. Interesting, funky, sweet, soapy yeast aromas mingle with marachino cherry juice. Almost waxy. Very sweet, lightly attenuated mouthfeel with a healthy effervescence. Very sweet and quite tasty, but also very one-dimensional in this regard. Drinkable as a dessert, but not complex or beer-like, either. Plenty of cherries, a hint of clove. Not bad for a lindeman’s competitor. guzzler67 (1288), Hanover, Maryland, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 23, 2006 Light merlot appearance witha large, pink head and decent lacing. Aroma was all cherry; sweet and one dimensional (as was this beer in general). Taste was sweet as well, almost lile cherry coke. Well carbonated with a slightly sour finish. aroma is very wild /black cherry like.
Sweet cherry flavour, syrupy, sour after taste.
Mouthfeel is not too cloying.
I found this pretty drinkable, a nice change up inhot weather though one 375ml is probably enough for me. bu11zeye (5675), Frisco, Texas, USA
