Nose is like that as well, syrupy sweet cherry notes, and some menthol. Sort of like a cough drop. Flavor is nicely tart and balanced, somewhat musty, but overall just what it is and is never overpowering a lighter take on the style. IndianaRed (1562), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 27, 2006 Bottle Pours a clear deep cherry red with a very large pink fluffy head that sticks around. Aromas are intense cherry, a bit over done like cherry jolly-ranchers and a slight woody, musty hint. Lots of sweet cherry flavor, again a bit forced, and candy like but quite tasty. Fairly light feel and moderately fizzy. Not quite as syrupy as the Lindemanns. A hint of tartness that almost balances it out.
I’m liking this more with each sip. Very yummy. BückDich (4857), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 13, 2006 Bottle: Red pour, pink head and lacing. Nose is very bright with sugar and cherry essence, a light lotiony character that reminds you of cherry pie, a bit thin in the finish. Best of the bunch I think. bager (2121), Copenhagen N, Denmark
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 3/5 | 5/20 | Jun 9, 2006 Bottle. Dark red in colour with medium reddish head. Oh dear. Sweet, sweet and sweet. Much too candy like for me. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 2, 2006 Pour is deep crimson red with a thinnish pink head...smell is definately candy cherry with hints of foul old Robitussin...tasate is initially the same chemical sweetness, but then some tart cherry hints come out...really just like a cherry sour ball...saying this is the best is sort of like beating the crap out of a retarded person though...it isn’t really difficult, and you don’t really brag about it...that much... | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 6, 2006 375ml bottle from Bev Mo La Mesa. This is one of the best fruit beers I’ve ever tried. Pours a medium cranberry color, head is frothy and pink. Nose of sweet cherries. Great candied cherry flavor. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 4, 2006 Aroma is big with powdered sugar and candied cherries. Cranberry colored with a two finger thick pink tinted head. Sugary, kool-aid sweet cherry notes dominate the fore on through the finish. Has a slightly chalky, tart note to it in the finish as well. It’s a fruit beer and it tastes good. Nothing more nothing less. It isn’t a lambic and it doesn’t claim to be so knocking it for not being a lambic is like knocking Alpha King for not being Dark Lord.
