This is one of my favourite liefmans beers. Although this is quite a sweet kriek unlike those at the spontanious femt it was my orignal fruit beer choice when i first got into beer. Pours a rich ruby red with a slight pinkish head. Huge wafts of cherry, straw jam, cherryade and sweet malts. The taste is dominated by lashings of black and sour red cherries with candy sweetness and a slightly tart sourness. Also there is some almond nuttiness which lifts the carbonated background. Refreshing and light perfect for any occassion.

Bottle Pours a clear deep cherry red with a very large pink fluffy head that sticks around. Aromas are intense cherry, a bit over done like cherry jolly-ranchers and a slight woody, musty hint. Lots of sweet cherry flavor, again a bit forced, and candy like but quite tasty. Fairly light feel and moderately fizzy. Not quite as syrupy as the Lindemanns. A hint of tartness that almost balances it out. I’m liking this more with each sip. Very yummy.

Aroma is big with powdered sugar and candied cherries. Cranberry colored with a two finger thick pink tinted head. Sugary, kool-aid sweet cherry notes dominate the fore on through the finish. Has a slightly chalky, tart note to it in the finish as well. It’s a fruit beer and it tastes good. Nothing more nothing less. It isn’t a lambic and it doesn’t claim to be so knocking it for not being a lambic is like knocking Alpha King for not being Dark Lord.

375ml Bottle. This deep red beer has a deep cherry aroma and well formed head. While there is some cherry flavor it is not as over powering as some of the other lambics. Full flavored, medium to full bodied and slightly sweet. A lingering and enjoyable beer.

bottled poured a transluscent burgundy with a thin, bright white head that dissapated fairly fast. a cherry, oak aroma comes next with some spices, clove maybe, following up. taste is strong cherry at the start, syrup like, with sweet, tart finish. nice mouthfeel. drinkable...with some salty chips.

Generally mild and buttery beer. I was expecting something more akin to a lambic, but it was smoother and less harsh on the mouth. Pours a deep red (cheery coke?) with a 2-3cm thin frothy white head. Fruity sweet cherry overtones on the nose, and very buttery mouthfeel. (Bottle Pour 12/31/2007)

Nice pour from the bottle into a Liefman tulip, a deep ruby body with a tall pink head. The aroma is a blend of Maraschino and dark red cherries. The firm carbonation keeps the sweetness in check, the flavor being fresh cherries with a light, delayed tartness. I like cherries, so this ale appealed to me.
