I think I’ve only had one other mangoed brew. That one was a sturdy IPA infused with the fruit and served up under the guise of a Christmas ale. This one is all about the mango. Having a hazy golden-amber body with a small white head, this has an aroma of mango. Period. It tastes of mango with a bit of apricot and a whole lot of white sugar. Drinkable, but once was enough.

Yeasty apricot aroma. Hazy golden with clinging bubbles. Solid apricot flavor which turns to peaches and oats. Strangely, this tasted more peche-like than their peche.

2005 Bottle, Sampled in 2008:
Hazy orange coloured body with a nice thin off-white head. Aroma of apricots, mangoes, apples, pears and even some passion fruit. Medium-bodied; Great sweet fruity flavour shows well up front with some light malt and wheat behind with a tiny amount of alcohol noticeable too. Aftertaste shows a lot of sweet fruit with very little else. More of a fruit beer than a lambic by all senses, but definitely nice to try. Overall, worth trying if you like fruit beers or if you’ve got a girlfriend/wife that you’d like her to try the beer too! I sampled this 37.5 cL split bottle, purchased from Total Wine in McLean, Virginia on 19-March-2008.

Very sweet and a bit over the top. It does pour a nice big head, but the beer is just too sweet. Mango and more mango. Sediment is also present in this beer, but in bigger chunks than I am used to.

375ml bottle poured into a flute. LdBT pours hazy yellow with a large head that reminds me of styrofoam. The fruity aroma consists of mangos mostly with a hint of peach and apricot. A very faint trace of spicy hops comes through as well. The flavor is very heavy on the mango almost like you were drinking this out of a bowl filled with mango chunks. It is cloyingly sweet and syrupy. This is a definite dessert beer and should be shared with a friend because one glass is quite enough. This was a bit too sweet for my taste but assuming that the brewer was trying for this affect it’s probaby right on.
