Tasting Notes
Aroma: Sweet mango.
Appearance: Peach color with some sediment in it. Actually, it looks a bit like pear juice until it settles out a bit. It also has a thin white crown.
Flavor: Sweet with a nice mango flavor to it.
Palate: Light body and light on the palate. Very refreshing and a nice change of pace.
Overall: I actually enjoyed this beer quite a bit. The mango flavor was a nice derivation from the usual fruit choices. I think my wife would probably love this beer. Too bad she wasn’t there to try any! redlight (1499), Winter Park, Florida, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | May 27, 2007 bottle from Total Wine. Mango and apricot on the nose, sweet fruit juice. Pours blonde with little to no head. Sweet fruit juice flavor, reminds me Juicey Juice. I’ve had worse, but i’m not gonna go for this one again! jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Mar 1, 2007 Bottle: Pours a golden orange with a moderate white head. Smells like fruit juice and tastes like fruit juice. Ever so slight musty malt aroma. Lots of citrus and fruit flavors competing and very sweet. Sort of syrupy. Not one that I’ll try again. microakes (96), Canada
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Jan 10, 2007 Just simply too sweet for words. Can finish the bottle but won’t buy a second one. Can’t fault them for making the effort, but I suspect the world was not clamouring for a mango lambic and this beer won’t make them do so either. Gimmick beer. | 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Dec 23, 2006 Pours a nice light amber with a generous foamy white head. Smells grassy, somewhere between a decent pale ale and a crappy lager, but with a touch of fruitiness. Not nearly as carbonated as I would have thought from the head. Sticky sweet mouthfeel, almost syrupy. tastes more like a juice or soda than a beer. Not very mango-ish, but I shouldn’t have expected much. Not something I’ll pick up ever again. argo0 (7029), Washington DC, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Oct 17, 2006 (375ml bottle) Medium white head atop a lightly hazed amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, herbal, some mango, herb. Taste is sweet, sugary fruit drink -- mango, raspberry, peach -- does it come in a mix at the grocery? Light carbonation, light body, can almost taste the sugar crystals. IndianaRed (1562), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Aug 30, 2006 Bottle pours a slightly hazy orangish beige. Large frothy white head. Aroma is a musty sligly funky yeast note. Some tart acidic character as well. Flvor is very sweet, sugary, and kool-aide like. Fruit flavors are barely recognizable. mango I would have picked out, but after taht, apple and pear probly. Thin fizzy palate witha residual sugary residue left. Not very interesing and if this were in a can for 60 cents, I woul dhave it with my lunch maybe.
