Raspberries dominate everything about this beer. The flavor was sweet but mostly tart
Makes the inside of your mouth water!
I was impressed even though Im not usually a big fan of raspberries. The mouthfeel was quite carbonated and sweet.

Flavour is again, quite tart, and sour, but the raspberries really comes through. The finish is again very tart. Super nice beer, very interesting, the 1st flemish sour i have that is flavoured with fruit. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA

5/30/2007: Liefman’s Frambozenbier is a cloudy brown color and has a foamy tan head. The aroma and flavor both have raspberry, sweet caramel-ish malt, and a hint of sourness. The flavor has some additional tartness and acidic qualities with a hint of cork/woody as well as being slightly yeasty. This beer has a medium body and is smooth and not overly carbonated. This beer is pretty good, but I actually like the Liefmans de Boomgaard Tropicale slightly more overall due to its uniqueness.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 18, 2007 750mL bottle. Dark burgundy and cherry purple colored body. Candy sweet raspberry flavors, with some muddled lactic cream flavors as well. Sweet raspberry seed nose with more cream and milk scents, and almost a wet and damp paper scent and flavor in this beer. It’s a bit strange overall, almost smells and tastes a bit like plaster... texture is a bit fizzy and soda-like... it’s only very slightly sour, and no where near as good as the Liefman’s Kriekbier. Spar lacing. Light cloudy and red color. Sweet raspberries, other notes of berries, vinegar and hint of fresh apple with some citrus notes as well. Medium bodied with an average carbonation. Well balanced between the sour and sweet notes. Nice sweet raspberries finish. Cletus (5059), Connecticut, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 15, 2007 Pours brownish/red with a light brown head. Amells of raspberries, sweet malt, some sugar, some farmhouse cellar hints. Tastes of sugary raspberries with some pronounced tartness. Mouthfeel is syruppy with a sugary finish. Not sure why this is listed as a Flemish sour. It’s much more of a fruit beer, IMO. crushinat0r (227), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 5, 2007 Smells of raspberry but a little too much on the gueuze/sour side. Deep red colour and white lacing head. But taste, wow, smooth, sweet, not too sweet, thick body. One of the nicest framboise beers I’ve ever had. axilla (962), New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 4, 2007 Updated: May 7, 2007Pours dark brown with a big foamy tan head and a lot of small bubbles clinging to the glass. Big rasberry preserves aroma. Flavor is a lot of sweet rasberries with just enough funky tartness to keep it from getting too sweet without sacrificing flavor. A very enjoyable sour ale.
