Poured a brownish amber showing some red tints, with a huge webby fluffy head. At risk of sounding like Fred E, this is one noisy beer! I could hear the crackling of the head from a few feet away! I love the aroma, with hints of raspberry, pits or stone, and a slight funk, mostly like wet straw. The flavor was well balanced, with mild acidity, semi-dry, and just a touch of raspberry flavor. I was surprised at the low acidity/sourness, but I’m not sure how much of that is masked by the fruit. Either way, its very well balanced and amazingly easy drinking. Body is light, perhaps almost thin but not in a bad way. I appreciate the moderate alcohol content, I could drink and enjoy this whole 750 on a Monday night and not feel any ill effects. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 7, 2006 A dark, brown coloured beer with ruby red flashes and a pink-whiite head. An immediate hit of sour raspberry fruit in the aroma, with a little maltiness accompanying. The taste follows suit, a strong sour raspberry fruit taste, fizzy, as the description says, a lively Champagne-like character. there is again a hint of maltiness in the finish. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 4, 2006 Bottle from a tiny little place in St. Micheals, MD. Pours a haxy deep ruby with a nice off white head and plenty of lacing. Aromas of rasberries, blackberries, sour apple, yeast and autumn leaves. Crisp, tart berry flavor along with a healthy dose of yeast. Prickly carbonation that enhances the flavors and aroma. Mildly sour and crisp finish with a restrained sweetness that easily leads to the next sip. asheft (1438), Marburg, Germany

Sweet and sour red raspberry aroma. Very dark red, coca-cola colour, with very little white, wisps. Flavour was as predicted by the aroma: sweet and sour with not too potent red raspberry and a sweet, lip-smacking feel leading to malt flavour and a hint of "oud" sourness. This beer would be incredibly good with a bit less sweetness and a lot more sourness. Extremely low carbonation (probably bad bar management) medium body, mouth puckering plus tingly sweetness. ratman197 (3254), Arvada, Colorado, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 29, 2006 375 ml bottle poured a hazy brown with red highlights and a lasting amber head. Aromas of raspberry and a hint of wheat. Palate was light bodied. Flavors of wheat and raspberry with a lightly tart slightly sweet lingering finish. daboskabouter (1470), Fergus, Ontario, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 22, 2006 Dark, shiney, ruby-red colour with a foamy and rocky pinkish-white head. Candyish raspberry blossoms from the glass with just a hint of must and implying tartness. The first sip is a bit on the sweet side with a mouth-tingling spritziness that doesn’t hinder. The second sip is the same except that the tartness lingers a bit longer and the raspberry comes to fruition. Finishes dry and semi-sweet. A nice, easily drinkable Flemish sour, but I’d like a bit more of the sweetness and a more robust, earthy raspberry fruitiness. Nice however, and one that I’ll drink again. Thisone I’ve selected to be my beer no. 100, because it’s one of the best fruit sour ales I ever have tasted. Very much a sweet beer, but it’s ok. If you are in the mood of drinking more sour fruit ales, thisone is not your choice. It’s just a real summerbeer for aperitif sessions.
