Poured brown with no head and lots of yeast floaties. Astringently tart cherry aroma. Taste is quite sweet, like cherries rolled in brown sugar and cinnamon. Interesting how the aroma and flavor seem to be on opposite ends of the spectrum. shrubber85 (2966), Wallhalben, Germany
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 13, 2005 Bottle. Strong mulling spice aroma -almost overwhelming clove with hints of pepper, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Dark red color with no head. Cherry clove flavor with same spice hints as aroma. This tastes better room temperature or even a bit warm as it is very much like mulled wine or Glühwein (thus the name). A nice Christmas drink - avoid if you hate cloves. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 3, 2005 I can see this brew taking well to being mulled. Very medicinal sour cherry flavor, with winter type spicing ie; cinnamon/nutmeg/clove/anice etc. pretty good. bu11zeye (5621), Frisco, Texas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 12, 2005 (Bottle) Pours a murky dark reddish brown body with a spare off-white head. Aroma of port, wood, and spices. Flavor of sweet port with milling spices. Characteristics reminiscent of a German Christmas Milling Wine crossed with a Unibroue Quelque Chose. Quite different than what I had expected from a Liefmans’ beer. vanvenlo (794), Glen Iris, Australia

Clear brown-red, no head and no lacing. Tangy, mega spicy, cinnamon and cherry fruit flavour and some spirit earthiness. Light on mouthfeel, tingly tongue and back of the throat medicinal finish. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jul 7, 2005 750ml. bottle. Red/brown color with hardly any head. No carbonation. Sweet cherry aroma with some background spices(cinnamon, nutmeg?)
Flavor was also sweet. Lots of cherry flavor along with the cinnamon. Reminded me of Quelque Chose from Unibroue. The lack of carbonation caused this beer to be a bit cloying from the sweetness. Papsoe (15103), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 23, 2005 (Bottle 25 cl) Putting a glass of beer in the microwave is something I’ve never done before - please don’t tell anyone... But a cold day in January was the right time to try this thing I’d kept in stock for a couple of years. Heated to 70 degrees C, this is a very unusul experience. Hazy brown with a pronounced red tint. Almost no head. Very tart with a lot of natural cherry flavour - no artificial touches here. Very appealing in small quantities. And very reminiscent of German Glühwein or Danish "Glögg". 270198
