The nose is a strong, sweet cherry and taste is a strong sweet cherry without the malts and hops. Nice clean crisp finish. Very good fruit beer, light bodied, no carbonation. 12oz bottle, $5.95 from Vintage Cellar, Blacksburg, VA mdi (573), Nebraska, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 20, 2004 375ml bottle cork dated 1998 I was told this was a great camping beer, so I write this review fireside. Popped the cork, but no real "POP" tasted it cold, kinda like flat cherry soda. warmed it on a stove, poured with good head when hot. Insanely sweet cherry drink. Enjoyed nightfall by the Vrain. Not something I’d drink after work, and tough to get through the whole bottle by myself...its like a Sweet-Tart in a bottle with some spices added. obisbeer (558), Barcelona, Spain
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 19, 2004 I mulled this in the microwae which seemed to work ok. Brilliant clear cherry red color with little or no head. Pure cherry nose, with some clove and chinese five spice aromas. Some vanilla apparent and reminescent of cider. Sweet with woody notes on the palate with a slightly sour finish. Fresh cherry flavors with a sweet and sour finish. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 18, 2004 Bottled 1998 Vintage; Tasted July 18, 2004: Dark red or ruby color with no head at all. Aroma is loaded with spices and hints at the cherries. The cherries come alive in the taste and are complimented well by the cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. It is very reminicent of a mulled wine. It is very sweet and will be a turn off to many, but it is worth the try. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jul 18, 2004 Hazy red body. Rocky, lightly pinkish head (good lace). Spicy aroma, gluhwein-like. Sweet (cherry), lightly sour initial floavour. aracauna (2391), Georgia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 13, 2004 This is a sweeter lambic like the Lindeman’s line, but instead of the red body and pink head of the Lindeman’s, this is a dark, dull brown with only reddish hints and a mostly white head. I actually thought this was a lambic like the Lindeman's stuff to start with, but after reading some of the other comments, I realize it's more of a Flemish brown and feel less guilty about liking it. skortila (2913), Bunnik, Netherlands
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jul 9, 2004 Aroma of cherrie and spices. The same spices as in ’gluhwein’. Deep red coloured with no head. I’ve had half the bottle warmed up and the other half cold. Warm is okay, much like a gluhwein. Belly-warming. However, drink it cold and you taste this beer isn’t really great; cherries and winey, some grapes little spices and very, very sweet. Sticky palate.
