| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 15, 2007 From a 1997 vintage bottle that hey_kevin shared at a tasting. The body was dark red with very few bubbles in the glass. The aroma was clove, quality tobacco and obvious cherries. There was also some cinnamon spice. There was some light oxidation that enhanced the smell and taste. The taste was strong cherries with soft cinnamon and clove spice. A very nice friuit beer. Bart (1664), Brussels, Belgium
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 15, 2007 Nice dark red coloured with a small pinkish head. Stronger fruity cherry, herby aroma. Full body. Finish is fruity (cherries) with again some herby touches. Little tart finish. This is one of the better gluhkriek. detroiter (958), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Jan 14, 2007 Cork dated 1998. Pours a reddish brown, almost the color of tawny port. No head, no fizz, no lacing. Ugly brown clumps of yeast. The aroma includes a hint of apple cider, but mainly strong complex cherry - not only the fruit, but also the pit and even the tree bark.
The flavor is even more complex with cherry (both sweet and tart), candied apple, cider vinegar, cinnamon, light brown sugar, and a good amontillado wine. The finish is tart and spicy, with yeast, cinnamon, nutmeg, tart cherry, and lemon flavors.
Surprisingly fuller in the body. Very light carbonation, but honestly, its not even missed. When I lived in Suttons Bay, MI, my house was surrounded by cherry orchards. This beer reminds me of that. I could drink it forever. xproudfoot (729), Paleolithic, Pennsylvania, USA

The flavor is sweet cherries and spices. I tried it hot and cold - preferred the warmed version. This is not an "everday" drink, but is rather pleasant on a cold winter night. fonefan (11891), VestJylland, Denmark
