Bottle from Ohtsuki. Dark brown with just a bit of orange and just a ring of bubbles around the side of the glass. Aroma of sour cherries, lemon, vinegar, wood, Very Sweet and laso quite sour flavor. Yogurt, nuts, cherries, brandy. Very complex, though not perfectly integrated. Very tasty and enjoyable, but not nearly as interesting as I had hoped.

Bottle, 37,5 cl. A brown ale, with a slight reddish shine on it and a very small, fast disappearing head. Aroma is great: sourness and malty sweetness comes straight into your nose. Some fruitiness is included. The tastge is as great as the smell: you have a medium bodied beer with the sour taste and the malty sweet taste and the fruits, all together very well balanced, very easy drinking beer with a nice mouthfeel.

Pours a dark red brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of ripe dark fruits, grapes, and oaks. Flavors is strong of sour fruits, grapes, plums, raisans, and apples. Low carbonation with a sweet and sour oak dry finish. Very smooth, and a great ballance of fruity flavors, easy to drink and very pleasant.

Bottle. Pours a lovely deep mahongany. Small tan head that disappears pretty quickly. Not much in the way of lacing. Aroma shows plenty of sournness. Plenty balsamic vinegar, red wine / port and sour cherries. Also seems to be some cork or perhaps oak near the finish. Flavours initially show some malt sweetness. A little fresh apple and some dark fruits. Plenty of vinegar sourness on the finish. Extremely well balance and a wonderful beer.

Bottle. Pours very dark copper with a little tan head that quickly vanishes. Aroma is a little sour with notes of blackberries, blackcurrant, toffee, and sour cherry. Flavour is also quite sour (no great surprise) and vinous with a lot similarity to the aroma but with added hints of caramel, oak and raspberry. Nice mix of sweet and sour overall which has a generous body and a fairly astringent finish. The first beer I have tried in this style and I will be seeking out more.

Source:1999, 1.5 L magnum shared with a few friends.
Glass:Tumbler.
Appearance:Ruddy brown pour with a one finger off white head.
Aroma:Ripe fruits, green apples and funk.
Flavor:Heavy apples, both green and red, with a sour cherry finish.
Palate:Light body with solid carbonation.
Overall:Not bad for a 10 year old beer, but I would have expected a little more sourness.
