| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 31, 2007 Bottle... 2005 stamped on the cork. Just from the outside looking in you can see the ammount of floaties waiting to be unleashed into a nice glass. Pour is a dark brown, and a lot of the floaties escape into the glass. Right now they are rollicking around being pushed all over the place by the carbonation that is pouring up from the bottom. Head is smallish, especially considering all the carbonation. Aromas are complex but subtle: caramel malts, a promise of something a little tart... maybe like a tart cherry aroma, some brown sugar, some dried fruits, etc. Flavor is fantastic. Starts out with a brown sugar and dried fruit sweetness, but the sugars aren’t sticking around long and they are replaced by a tart (green apple/pie cherry) finish. padrefan98 (788), (San Diego) Santee, California, USA

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 26, 2007 375 mL, with too many floaties. I love yeast at the bottom, but not so much that I can only decant half the beer. Muddy brown with a full Belgian foam. Aromatically mediocre. It’s very applely, with a blend of granny smith and red apples. Also hints of banana bread. Definately more sweet than sour, and a beer that’s rumored to have gone through numerous changes the past decade. Maybe this was once a classic, but that was before my time. Now it’s just a sweet, drinkable, approachable brown ale. It has a unique taste, but is just too sweet and one dimensional. daniele (1750), Italy

Kept reminding me of Lindemans Peche lambic ale.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 20, 2007 Lively carbonation and foamy head round out a brown ale pour that has a nose of flemish sour tartness and a fair amount of woody toast. Palate is dry and sparkling with the best of the sours. The flavor of this brew is really quite rich. The tartness and astringency of the sour ale are complemented by the maltiness of the brown ale with a refreshing nutty finish. This is an excellent pairing of styles and an explosively rich brew overall.
