| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 6, 2005 Dark amber and slightly opaque in appearance, this beer has aromas of: sour cherries, fresh bread/yeast grapes and sour apple. In the mouth, it’s moderately sweet and aromas of oxidized copper and roses become apparent. The palate is very creamy and alluring with a long-lasting sweet finish.Yummy! shakespiers (8), England does not count | 1.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Nov 6, 2005 Another beer ruined by a takeover. All you get is a horrible sickly sweetness now instead of complexity of an old style brown ale. A crying shame. puzzl (2660), New York, New York, USA

This thing was like a fucking aquarium. Awesome. So weird, I know. The beer in general was not very sour at all, which was dissappointing, but still exhibited nice fruitiness and balance. A delicate slightly tart nose that is clearly a flemish brown with some extra candy floss thrown in for good measure. Wonderful murky (I know thats not a word that is usually used next to wonderful but I’m gonna go with it) chestnut brown appearance with a lovely thick head that unfortunately settles reasonably quickly to just a very thin film. This has the laciest looking lace of any beer I have had so far. Handcrafted by an old Belgian lady in a pinafore I am sure. Fruits are coming at me from all different directions. There is earth and leather and straw underneath too. Rich and complex and just very very good indeed. Think of a more delicate stronger Rodenbach or Odnar and you are not too far off. YUM
