Ever so gently spicy with a refreshing sharpness, the beer still retains the classic Belgian sweetness and complexity, yet is different enough to earn itself notoriety. Smooth, long palate. Duvel with a slight spicy/sour twist. Ungstrup (15393), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jan 19, 2004 An amber beer with no head. The aroma is sour - wildfermentation? with hints of oranges and metal. The flavor is malty, slightly sour, and acidic with notes of apricot and hops. The end is dry. An OK beer without being good. nickchalk (229), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 7, 2004 This one was a little unmemorable, I'll have to re-rate it later. Colour is hazy straw, foamy white head. Ultra mild aroma and flavour, mostly bitter but really missing some definition. Thin bodied. Bottle. Kåstå (1149), Mol, Belgium
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Oct 21, 2003 Amber coloured beer wtih a big off-wite head. Very mild light sour aroma with hints of rubber. The taste is light bitter and rather flat. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Oct 16, 2003 Sour fruit and spice in the nose. Slightly hazy orange-tan colour with fluffy white concave head that diminishes with patchy lacing. Malty but somewhat sour and dry with a bitterness in the finish. Flavour is a bit short. Prickly carbonation interferes with the enjoyment of an otherwise smooth beer. Bottle. Boutip (2397), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 1, 2003 Very nice head when pourred into glass, almost creamy, did not disapear and left line in the glass; to me this is a very impressive start. Very refreshing taste with a fruity aftertaste (Leifman knows how to add fruity taste to their beer). I'm not sure this a pale ale per say but it is still a good beer. iwantalambic (1389), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 20, 2003 Orange amber with a thin patchy head. Slight peppery aroma with some yeast and flat hops. Overly carbonated palate that is basically fizzy-pop. . . maltiness comes into play in the finish, but it is thin and missing the mark of any good flavours. . . is this really from Liefmans? imdownthepub (5177), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 18, 2003 Bottle Conditioned, a hazy orange amber ber with big white head. This is a spicy, sl aweet, toffee like beer. Chalky mouthfeel, a little thin.
