| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Mar 10, 2008 Updated: Aug 14, 2008In short: A spicy yeasty mess with just too much off-flavours that shouldn’t be in a beer.
How: Bottle, 375ml, age unknown but consumed shortly after purchase.
The look: Cloudy golden orange body with a long-lasting large off-white head
In long: Nose is yeasty with peppery hops. Taste is very spicy with unusual array of spices including paprika, bbq spices and that type of spices that tickle the back of the mouth. Musty, dusty and slightly metallic. Very yeasty. A bit tart. Fruity and peppery hops in the finish. An unpleasant chemical feeling reminiscent of urinal cakes. Youhou? Malts? Where are you? The beer looks great, it is tasty and certainly not boring but it’s just a messy mix-bag of a bunch of stuff. The word is that Liefmans may be going belly up. Thinking about that beer sadden me about as much as ’N Sync break-up, but thinking about the Goudenband Liefmans troubles sadden me like ’N Sync reformation rumours.

Aroma of mustiness, horse blanket, citrus, leather, florals, and herbs. Flavor of caramel, brett/fruit sourness, light herbs, and Orval yeast. This one caught me by surprise and was somewhat like a lighter version of Orval. bager (2121), Copenhagen N, Denmark

I have to argee with my man Theis - aroma and flavour has heavy notes of both horse and horseshit - hints of fruit, vinegar and a kind of wheaty banana to it also. Theis (3760), Denmark
