FatPhil (1853), Espoo, Finland Apr 27, 2008 375ml bottle (BelgianShop)
Rich orange to brown, tiny head. Sweet fruity aroma, amber sweet malts, a little plasticky in places, and some strawberries. Creamy and malty taste - mellow oak and walnut. Subtle earthy hops. Very mellow, nutty, and well balanced.
gam (451), brisbane, Australia Jun 6, 2008 Weak head to almost no cover, mild carbonation, ale is misty and sediment orange colour.Aroma caramel, malt.Flavour malty fruit taste(bitter)caramel, lemon and orange, sour to tart flavour.Spicey finish and sour, not for me. acrdz (4095), Pennsylvania, USA Jun 4, 2008 375ml bottle at Bier Cafe Het Elfde Gebod in Amsterdam. Murky pale amber color. Mild, plain nose of white bread and faint brett. Flavor is also very plain and underdeveloped, like a stale, empty, dry Orval. Some light fruit and stale, flavorless paper as well, and just a slight touch of funked apricots and coconut (like trail mix, nutty). bhensonb (2687), Woodland, California, USA Jun 1, 2008 Bottle, corked and caged, from Beer Planet in Brussels - good selections there. 37 cl. bottle cost 3.5 EURO. Clear copper color with a good, fine bubbled, beige/tan head. Aroma of mixed cooked fruits. Flavor is tinned tropical fruits alternating with lightly roasted caramel. Mild spice. Drinks very well. There’s enough bitter to balance the malt. Good drink. Carlus12 (361), London, Greater London, England May 12, 2008 Bottle @ Lowlander, Drury Lane. Pours hazy orange with minimal white head. Aroma is tropical fruits, faint spicyness, hops. Taste is malty, again fruity and slighty sweet but nothing more. Tranquillity (1014), Espoo, Finland Apr 30, 2008 Bottled. Good, balanced but weak aroma. Red-yellow, small white head. Taste loong, complex. Exotic fruits, hops, good finish. Just a little bit too boring and weak for me.
