Musty light caramel flavour with lightly oaky berry finish. Some vineous notes too. Medium bodied, mildly tart and dry. Nice. dirkbreedveld (247), Netherlands

Brown ale, with open fermentation delivers a nice sour flavour, with hints of fruits, like gooseberries. Can be stored for a long time. Just like the Goudenband. pivnizub (5033), Bochum, Porúří, Germany

Quite easily drinkable, well balanced, light and pleasant sour ale. A good beer to begin with a journey into the world of the beautiful belgian sour ales............... Aroma is great, balsamic qualities, with a great sourness with some malty sweet goodness balancing it out well. Fruits and nuts kicking about aswell. Taste is not as complex but excellent sourness, balanced well with a goof frutiness, ranginf from brambles and blackcurrents to gooseberries. Excellent beer, want more. Think this may have been aged too. MesandSim (5863), London, Greater London, England

Sampled at the Delirium Cafe. Love the bottle! Looks like something from a museum. Surley it is not allowed given the total lack of best before date or percentage. Slightly fruity but not anything I can put my finger on. Woody barnyardy nose. Dry and slighty sour but not overly so. Creamy but with some balsamic vinegar in there too. It is all over the place but it really is very good indeed. A wonderful Flemish sour. Why oh why do they not make this properly? A rare gem. bask (305), Leuven, Belgium

Dark with almost no head. Aroma of dried fruit, grapes, raspberry. Light body, with a sour taste, which is even more present in the aftertaste. Some salty and apple notes. wijlen (3), Belgium does not count | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 22, 2005 Heerlijk fris en zomers bier
