| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 27, 2004 Sweet woody aroma, caramel malt, tart fruit tannins, smoooth. Deep burgundy blood red clear (before sediment pour) with light tan thin lacing head. Medium-heavy watery body with medium carbonation. Starts with bit of tartness, like fruit skins, but also very earthy, with hints of mushrooms and musty dirt. Finish remains tart, though watery, with some hops coming in. Not bitter, just earthy. After is clean, with some musky undertones. A very interesting mix of flavors and aromas. Adding the dregs gives some more fruity tart character, and some Belgian yeast aroma. Increases bitterness in finish and after, but not detrimentally. Either way, it’s a good sour ale. rauchbier (3003), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 19, 2003 Fantastic appearance, cloudy dark brown coloured, beautiful lacing with these very fine bubbles like guinness. Fruity, woody, dusty and bit yeasty aroma, sour and fruity flavour. Not as complex as the Goudenband, but certainly a good brew. skortila (2913), Bunnik, Netherlands
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 8, 2003 Aroma is a bit fruity, oaks, promising. The beer is clear, but very dark red coloured with a thin head. Fruity and winey fresh taste. Bit wood/dusty/sour palate. Very typical flemish sour ale. However lacking some complexness. caesar (3034), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 8, 2003 Redbrown color, short head. Aroma is of oak wood, dusty, only slightly fruity. Taste is more typical flemish sour ale, tart cherries. But this one is not as fruity as some others, but has a more woody note.
