Bottle: Dark brown coloured with an mid-sized brownish head; fruity, sourish nose with a tinge of caramel, also: balsamico, port; initial sweet-sour fruity taste, mild sweetish flavour; gentle fruity-sourish finish with a touch of "barrique" and some "iron" (?). Not so complex as the "Goudenband", but very pleasant and going down well. Moreish !

Bottled 25cl (BBE 03/2007)
Different (brown-blue) label.
Ruby red, small mostly vanishing tanned head. Quite typical FSA nose: sour (vinegar, balsamico) and sugary. Carbonated, a bit sweet, finishing sourish, oily aftertaste. Quite good example of this style, so if you want your first Flemish Sour Ale, this is easy one to start.

A cola-coloured (brown-black) beer with a small pale brown head. A very complex taste, a bit malty and sweet but the nice sourish taste is overwelming. A very good sour ale. (Bottle 25cl)

Dark brown with some amber, with a small head. Aroma of acidic grapes and wine, with obvious alcohol. Sour biting taste, with a long sour finish

(Bottle 25 cl) Dark brown with a reddish hue, and a nice light-brown head. Tart, fresh nose. Medium body with wooden, vinous notes. Some sourness in the finish. Crisp and very quenching. 200895

Draught. Dark brown colour, red hue. Big creamy, light brown head, quite stable. Aroma of acidic berries. Very sweet, acidic flavour. Some berry/raisin/grape notes. Aftertaste has a very tiny hint of sheery/prune. I am not a fan of oud bruin, but I think I would prefer it less sweet than this.

On tap at the white horse. Pours a cloudy deep brown hue with a light frothy head with sour aromas and flavors. Not as acidic as I would have thought. Flavor was much better than the aromas.

Creamy and compact foam. Supporter and of good persistence. Dark color red, dense and crisp. Medium scent of red fruit and wine. Round, dry taste with a light body but decide.Perfumed and pleasant, even if it’s not the best flemish that i had tried.
