Bottle. Pours pale brown with a creamy off white head. Aroma has lots of caramel and a clear champagne like feel. Flavour begins quite sweet, then turns caramel, then quite sour, still maintaining the champagne feel.

Bottle from Rake. This is my favourite style of beer, so pardon my bias. Dark caramel in colour with an off white head. Smell is identical to Gouden Carolus Christmas - in a word, scrum! Taste of christmas pudding with a touch of citrus fruits. Finish of tart black cherries. Velvety nouthfeel. Well balanced. I like it a LOT!

Bottle. Brownish black beer with a light head. The aroma is nicely fruity and sour, and the flavour is weakly fruity with a sour finish. Overall a nice but average beer.

Bottled. I like those flemish sour ones, and this didn’t disappoint me either. It has a clear, brown body and a beige head. It has a quite weak, but complex aroma with coffee, roastiness, cellar-notes, blackcurrant and sourness. The flavor isn’t at the same level, with sweetness, sourness and dried fruits. Full to medium body. A nice beer who deserves more flavor. (061222)

Bottled. A dark red coloured beer with no head. The aroma is musty, woody and twiggy with subdued fruits and sourness. The taste is woody and dry. An old tasting beer with more sourness but it’s again quite subdued. Drinkable but plain really.
