Clear, medium orange brown body with a quick foamy off-white head. Bitter corn fruit yeast flavour has a bit of cloying sweet yeast aftertaste. Medium body is a little bitter. A little bitter, not bad.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 10, 2009 Caramel malts blend nicely with earthy and floral hop character. Brilliantly clear copper coloured body is topped by a generous white head that recedes to cover. A somewhat husky cereal malt character underscores the caramel malt sweetness. Bitterness is notable with some floral notes and fruity esters in the aftertaste especially. Medium body with moderate, lightly prickly carbonation. A quaffable beer and a decent enough IPA in the British sense. Tulip glass. Cellar temperature. Can purchased at the BCLS at Hellsgate in Mar-09. harpsm (24), Maryland, USA

A rather weak IPA; judging by taste I wouldn’t even have classified it as an IPA. jcwattsrugger (5333), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

Brisk pour puts a clear orange-amber ale in the glass with a decent sticky/creamy 2 finger cap which lasts well and laces the glass as it’s drained.
Aromas are toasty malts, woody-earthy resinous British hops (Fuggles) very traditional english IPA aroma.
Profile: wonderful toasty-bready malt in the front is balanced with piney resinous hopping....mid palate succulent fruit tones from yeast esters mingle with the now bittering pine-citrus hops and more earthy-woody falvors as some complexity is detected...finishes lightly drying and clean with intensifying resinous bittering leaving a metalic aftertaste.
Balanced, full bodied, creamy mouth feel, drinkable and satisfying.
A very decent hybrid IPA...done in the english style with mostly english variety hops and a few Pacific warriors in the boil just to throw some light citirus in the taste.
Overal character is unique...very earthy-woody hop presence against toasted maris malts...very balanced but hoppy...not a Pacific NW styled IPA but a good Pacific NW take on the English style IPA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 15, 2007 Orange amber, cream coloured brief head. Aroma is earthy, briny, with some toffee and citrus. Caramel malt flavour with some resinous hop character, stonefruits are in here too somewhere. Very interesting, not overwhelming in-your-face like some IPAs out there, but it has its own charm. I liked it. mgermani (864), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Appearance much more promising - amber with an enormous head which unfortunately didn’t last long. There is some hops character to this one, but not a whole lot. Pale malt base with crystal highlights. This features less hops than many pale ales. Decent carbonation, slightly thin body. I will likely not ever order this again, but there’s a first (and last) time for everything.
