On tap at Alibi room. Rich dark color with tan head. Aroma is nutty, earthy, bitter and roasted. Flavor Is mostly just dark nutty malt with a bitter finish. Palate is dry and bitter without much lingering richness. Mediocre at best.

On tap at the Alibi Room. Pours black with a tan head. Flavour is a sweet malt, sticky palate. Could have a bigger body. Good stout, but leaves leaves something to be desired.

6/6/08 on draught at Garrick’s Head, Victoria, BC. Aroma is very creamy. Appearance is black with a solid tan head. Flavor is sweet malt forward with a truly good astringency. Mouthfeel is medium-full bodied with a low carb texture. Overall, quite good.

From my backlog and sampled with Blake and Jason. Canned. Decent pour with a light brown head. Good aroma of mocha. A bit sugary sweet and a bit astringent at the same time. Not a very good use of specialty malts. Light on the palate and I would’ve liked to have seen a bit more body to this. Quite mild all around and boring.

Can. Pours to a deep, deep brown body with a thin dense light brown head. The aroma is dry-stout-ish. Dry roast, black patent, chocolate, really roasty. The palate is dry, roasted, medium bodied, charred, astringent from the roast. I liked it.

Canned. Poured clear deeper brown with a short-lived cap of medium beige head. The aroma picked up sweet dusty dark chocolates with a bit of caramel and some coffee sweetness.. The flavor had primarily darker chocolates with some cocoa sweetness and some mild coffee.. more coffee and chocolate sweetness toward the end, but nothing great. Lighter-bodied with sweetness throughout, but not much substance... sweet, simple finish. OK..

Dark brown color. Dark brown head. Light roasted malt note. BAM. Roasted malts really hit the front of your mouth on the first sip, however, the palate is somewhat sour. Really good roasted character that just sits in your mouth like a firepit.
