Commercial Description:
This is the Lightning Brewery’s take on a traditional lager beer. It is the element of the “Pilsner bier” that we try to capture in our beer: A pale smooth-drinking beer with hints of hop aromas and a crisp natural carbonation. We brew Elemental Pilsner with imported pilsner malt, German strains of hops and selected lager yeast. We further encourage a unique crafted beer “lagered aroma” by extensively aging the beer with the fermentation yeast prior to filtration.

On draft at Hamiltons. Poured with a nice golden hue with a gentle hops nose. Taste has a light and very smooth feel with a little bit of sweet citrus. This is a great beer and would be perfect to drink on a warm summer day along with a bbq session~

I love pilsner, and this is a fine example, worthy of any German brewmaster. Nice use of lactic acid, Jim. Thank you for being so generous with this well made lager. A perfect summer session beer.

22 oz bottle from Southbay Drugs. Wow, this is good. Super nice golden color, slight aroma of bubble gum and spicy hops. Sweet, with a bit of peppery flavors in the background. Maybe I have just been craving a good lager lately, but this one really impressed me. I’m glad this is now available in bottles, as I will be drinking tons of this, especially come summer. Pilsener lovers rejoice!

ON tap at Hamiltons. Clear golden with a fizzy white head. Sweet fruity/malty aroma and taste with a good bready flavor and some honey notes.

22oz bomber from SBD. Pours hazy golden yellow with minimal white head, tiny bit of lace. Smells grainy and malty and sweet. Tastes of very mellow, earthy hops up front and then sweet malts toward the finish, grain flavors as well. Medium body, nice active, yet smooth carbonation. If your in the mood for a pilsner, this is a quality one.

As far as pilsners go, I thought this was pretty good, definitely worth drinking (which is saying a lot for a pilsner.) Has that very Lightning-typical yeast flavor and and a very smooth finish. Good flavor and a decent overall impression.
