Commercial Description:
As you might expect from a Lightning Beer, we made an American Lager that is unlike others. It is big, has a slight corn taste associated with the style, hefty hopping and a true laggered overall taste. For hops, we used American varieties and a selected strain of American Lager yeast for fermentation. This is a big beer: around 8.3% A.B.V., with a slight aroma of hops, a moderate amount of bittering hops to balance the maltiness of the beer, and a clean fermentation from the yeast and temperatures we use through the process.

Smells sour and of fruit, pours hazy yellow. Tastes sour with a funky hop aftertaste. Its boozy with an alcohol burn. Its pretty weird, probably a bad bottle.

Bottle. Pour s a pale yellow body with a white head. Damp paper and wood with a hint of pears and a strong unbalanced etoh warming. Bad bad bad.

Bomber. This exploded upon opening, it foamed over rapidly until half the beer was gone. Once I was able to get some poured into a glass, it took ten minutes to settle. Not sure if it’s over carbonated or I had a bad bottle. The flavor tastes like cornbread and it’s totally boozy. I’m glad I only bought one otherwise I would be very disappointed.

22 oz bottle, via Naven. Pours a clear light gold with a small foamy white head. Very light carbonation. The nose is corny with pale malts and a little bit of alcohol. Some light hoppiness. Alcohol dominated flavor, a little spicy, with pale malts, very bready and crackery accenting the pretty heavy corn flavor. Oddly enough, the corn flavor is pretty decent, not like what you normally get from a Malt Liquor. Mouthfeel is fairly crisp with moderate fizzy carbonation. Lingering corn sweetness. Pretty decent for a Malt Liquor for sure, but not one I’d do again.

22oz bottle from SBD. Pours slightly hazy, straw yellow with some floaters. Moderate white head, specks of lace. Smells grainy malty and sweet, slightly earthy hoppy. Tastes very sweet grainy, malty with a dose of booze. Very tasty. Medium body, ok carbonation.

22oz. bottle. Poured a medium yellow, with a nice white lasting head. Smells slightly lemony, and a little bready. Pretty easy going down, a little bitterness in there as well, not too shabby.

Lightly hazy thick golden pour. Sweet and malty aroma with some mellow floral hops. Sweet and alcoholic with flowery hop flavor. Has some bread and yeast notes. Too sweet and alcoholic for my tastes. There was a reason I gave up malt liquor.
