| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 1/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 20, 2008 Updated: Oct 26, 2008650 ml bottle from Bev4less, bought two bottles; drank one on 6-20-2008--rated it a 3.0; drank the second one on 10-25-2008. Pours a slightly hazy dark-gold color with a medium white head that soon fades to a thin film. The aroma showed distinctly fresh corn in the forefront with a bit of red fruits. The Flavor shows more corn, biter walnuts, fresh green herbs, and sweet grains. The alcohol is present everywhere. The mouthfeel is rather heavy with lively carbonation. The finish is long with biter nuts. Overall: An imperial lager if you ask me. Second bottle, which I drank on 10-25-2008 was infected and loaded with medicinal band-aid type flavors--drainpour. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 12, 2008 Pours a mostly clear, very lightly hazy, medium golden color. A foamy, off-white head settles to a wispy film, leaving random traces of sticky lace on the glass. The aroma shows sweet, clean, corn-based malts, grassy hops, flowers, and a touch of cream. I even picked up a touch of pine resin on the nose. Flavors are based on sweet but tolerable corn malts, fresh cut grass, a drop of citrus and pine, and some lactose. Despite the corn base, it tastes really clean and crisp. Medium-full bodied, smooth, and moderately carbonated, is finishes slightly sticky. Every bit of the 8.3% ABV is noticeable, not to say that it is hot, but rather, heavy. Fairly drinkable for what it is. I appreciate the efforts being made on the golden lager front, with Lightning and Olde Saratoga really pushing the envelope. AmEricanbrew (1860), Washington DC, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 10, 2008 Draft @ Liars Club. Clear amber with a 1" head. Lagar sweet aroma with grains and corn. Medium body. Flavor is heavy, sweet pale lager, straight forward and almost clean. Reminds me of a Euro strong lager. Enjoyed this one. Oakes (8093), gone rambling, Vietnam
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 25, 2008 This pre-pro lager is golden in colour. It has lemon hop on the nose with some graininess and caramel. It’s fairly grainy but with smooth, bright flavours and hints of malt that come in late. Well-balanced. Golden yellow pour with a big billowing white head, good lacing. Lots of corn, yeast and hops on the nose. Flavor followed up mostly the same with a light hint of alcohol on the finish. riversideAK (2733), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 9, 2008 From South Bay Liquor. Pours a yellow gold with a nice big head and super sticky lacing. Aroma of corn sweetness, metallic alcohol. Perhaps some grassy hops. The flavor is pretty sweet and grainy. Corn, bread, a light bitterness. A little metallic. Tastes like your standard malt liquor but with better ingredients and no chemicals. I like malt liquor, and I liked this one. I wish I had more, kind of. Angeloregon (2025), Portland, Oregon, USA
