Commercial Description:
Ludvig Wiese var byens første ordfører (1837) og foregangsmann for etablering av dampskipstrafikk i Norge.

Editors note: Wieses Ale is sold under that name in several disguises, though only one at a time. Bitter and brown ale are other editions of Wieses Ale. Therefore, be sure to ask the barman/barmaid/brewer what you get.

På kran i bryggeriet 17 Okt 09. Fargen er rødbrun. Lavt luftig skum som nesten ble borte. Fruktig aroma. Avrundet og sammensatt smaksbilde. Litt ristet malt. Søtlig. Avslutningen er litt tørr og bitter.

Amber ale version on tap at the brewery. Clear amber body, solid offwhite creamy head with soapy bubbles on top, stayed for the whole 15 mins it took me to guzzle this one down. Aroma is of tropical fruits, toffee, light roasted notes, hint of liquorice, with a slight fresh sourness. Flavour is of toffee, light sour tropical fruits, with a long roasted/lightly burnt aftertaste. Feels creamy and smooth in the mouth, english real ale style body and carbonation. Yummy sessionbrew.

400ml on draught at the brewpub. The pour reveals a clear, amber coloured body with a dark-red tint. Thin, but lasting, beige head. Pleasant malt-fruity aroma added by notes of hop resin. Moderate flavoured with brittle caramel on a roasted background. Nice bitter endnotes. Clean tasting and fine drinkability. A perfect partner to a delicious course called Moose in bayer (Lillehammer, 06.02.2009).

On tap at the Brewpub. A clear, amber pour with an off-white head leaving lacings. Fruity and sweet nose with some toffee, roasted malt, and a nice hop profile. Mostly fruity flavor, but there’s a malty, toffee background to balance it. Medium body. The finish has a lovely fruityness as well, and a nice bitterness. Looking forward to the day this one ends up in the stores. (080216)

On tap at the brewpub. Wonderful session ale, lots of flavour drawn out of the ingredients like the best British cask ales. Sweet and bitter, wonderful hoppiness. One of the top five Norwegian beers at this strength.

330 ml on tap@the brewpub. Clear amber colored with a ruby shine. Medium dense greyish head. Beautiful toffee aroma. Fruity, floral and light spicy notes. Soft, caramellish malt flavors along with a well prononced, but still very gentle hopbitterness. Hints of roast. Well-bodied for a 4.6% beer. Nice all over.
