Clear amber coloured, small off-white head, pleasant fruity nose. A way too sweet malty, faint fruity and metallic taste, hard to get any hops here. Moderate bitter finish. Big failure...or I’m wrong??? Borresteijn (509), Amstelveen, Netherlands Aug 12, 2008 Bottle. Brown/amber colour, white head. Sweet, malty and lager like altbier, slightly bitter finish. FatPhil (2090), Espoo, Finland Aug 8, 2008 330ml bottle (Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam)
Clear mahogany colour, brief head. Initial aroma, when cold, was a bit lagery. As it warms it becomes sweeter and fruity, with just a hint of walnut. Surprising taste, but first I’ll mention the pleasant carbonation in the mouth, and comment that the body’s perhaps a little thin. Apple and peach esters accompany the sweet malty taste, but at the back of the tongue there’s a pleasant dry nuttiness and a sharp and spiky bitterness. Switling it around the mouth brings out lots more flavours, it’s woody and perfumy too. The nuttiness and spiky hops stay for the moderate-length finish. Burps nicely! gmonroe10 (112), Netherlands Jun 24, 2008 Draft at bar on Singel, Amsterdam. Pours a clear brown, medium beige head that laces nice. Light malt aroma. Flavor is sweet with a lingering bitter finish on the palate. Thin body. TrefwoordPunk (366), Leiden, Netherlands Jun 19, 2008 Bottle 33 cl. Purs a clear reddish brown with a tiny head and a thin malty, slightly fruity aroma. The flavor is very malty and somehow it feels like tasting a very thin and unimpressive stout. Nice hoppy finish. Nothing special in here
