Light caramel in the taste, pleasant bitterness, good carbonation and clean. Just seems a little thin but didn’t mind this one, wasn’t great but easily drinkable. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 5, 2009 Medium amber-tinted head over deep amber-copper beer. Sweet malts & molasses, smelling like Brussels’ waffles, and leafy. Smells more like a (sweet) Bock than as an Alt. Bitterish-leafy taste, much better balanced than the nose, very little sweetness left. Faintly roasted & metallicfinish, but epithomizes leafiness as flavour. Then, warming up, it acquires a coriander flavour... Medium bodied, quite slick; finish is a bit watery (as well as metallic). Very peculiar Alt. But I confess as to liking the flavourprofile. Until it warmed up. Now, for a real Düsseldorfer... goozen (1088), Leiden, Netherlands
