On tap@O’Brien’s: Spicy apple sauce nose. Murky peach juice color with a medium off-white head. Flavor starts apple juice sweet followed by some green apple tartness and a light sweet finish. Medium bodied and smooth with moderate carbonation.

(Bottle 25 cl) Courtesy of Grovlam. Very unclear pale golden with almost no head. Intense but artificial apple aroma. Thin-bodied with sweet but unclean apple notes and some hints of....coconut? There’s a weak underlying tartness. No real pleasure. And how on earth this got a score of 3.1 really beats me. 270707

Bottle courtesy of Bu11zeye: Poured a cloudy beige color lambic with an average bubbly head with good retention. Aroma of semi-sweet apple is dominating with some light tart and oak notes. Taste is also dominated by some apple notes (probably apple concentrate) and some light tart and oak notes. Full body with some average carbonation. I would have like more sourness and oak which would have brought more complexity and would have been a perfect match for the apple.

I expected exactly what I received with this one so on with the rating.
An average offering to look at. Very sluggish to rise is the fine but plentiful carbonation. The body of beer cloudy, dull, medium gold crowned off by a sudsy white layer that messed up the glass as it went. Rough, woody, cork-tinged, apple-skin and candied apple nose with hunks of eucalypt, bay leaves and pear drops thrown in on edge for good measure. Sweet, tart and heavy handed apple explosion in the mouth. Expected a mild introduction but this fella just moved right into high-gear from the offset. Big candied apple and pears- I can’t emphasise the candi notes enough, this tastes like sucking boiled fruit lollies!!!! The tartness is only just matched by the sugary goodness but becomes quickly outweighed as the beer becomes clammy and gluggy quickly. Finish is just a little rough and hairy, nothing any P-lambic would be void of. Notes of banana-bread and again eucalypt team up with the apple madness in the sweet/sour, ever lingering swallow. This begins to drag on after a while, I grew tired quickly. The body - which starts out light and full of life - becomes heavy and draining. A struggle ensued. I couldn’t appreciate this as any classic. Not my thing!!! (37,5cL, BBE 06/08, Int’l Beer Shop, W. Leederville)

Bottle. Hazy yellow / light grey color with a average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate fruity, apple, sweet, sour (a bit like cider). Flavor is moderate sweet and light acidic, with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

This takes you back to a fall day with apple cider, only this has much more of a kick that the good ol fashioned stuff, although it tasted just like it, hazy golden color with an ample white head, left an outstanding lace around the glass, lots of apple aroma & an incredible apple flavor, they really captured the flavor of apples in this beer, smooth & troubling drinkable, an absoute outstanding beer
