Commercial Description:
Lindemans Cassis is a lambic made from local barley, unmalted wheat, and wild yeast. After spontaneous fermentation the lambic is aged in oak. Black currants are added creating a secondary fermentation and yielding an ale of exceptional flavor and complexity.

Poured a blueish purple color with a small off white purple head. Aroma was mainly black currants along with some funky. Flavor was mainly currants and blackberries with some funky and sourness in the finish.

[1340-20080510] 250mL bottle. Mild lambic yeast aroma has fruity tones. Murky, dark purple eggplant body with a medium-lasting bubbly magenta head. Sour blackberry cooler flavour. Medium body. Interesting mild fruitiness and sour but would not seek it again.

Extremely dark red, almost purple in color......opaque. Very fluffy, pinkish head. Strong, tart aroma of berries. Very tart fruit flavor up front, with a few hints of sweetness......crisp mouthfeel. Tart berry flavor slams into the back......finish is more of the same. This is definitely a lambic for the dark berry lover.

Wow... I’m relatively new to the lambic world, but this is quite curious. Huge aroma of intense currant. Dark red/maroon color with good clarity. Huge flavor! Very sweet with a sour finish and currants all around. I don’t know... good but really too sweet for me. Not what I was expecting. Currant is good but not quite my cup of tea.

pours a burgandy red with a pink head, aroma is of currents (of course), tart and tingly going down, black currants dominate every aspect of this beer which reminds me of Elderberries.

Bottle. Pours a dark reddish color with a small pinkish white head. Fruity and slightly tart black currant aroma. Sweetish black currant flavor with some tart hints. Sweetish fruity black currant finiah.

my least favorite lindeman’s lambic, and I’m a big fan of dark berries. taste here was too acidic and bitter for my liking though.
