Aug 14, 2009 Bottle at local bar. Purple/red color with pink head. Sweet, juicy aroma and flavor. Nice lacing. I think I like this one better than the raspberry flavor by Lindemans. Still, very sweet, I can only have one or so.

Aug 13, 2009 What a surprise! Pours near black in color with dark purple head, though the body of the beer is more of a dark red when held to a lightsource. Head is thick, rich, laces well, and is mystifying to look at. Nose is intense with mixed dark berries that are hard to pin down - maybe some blackberry, blueberry, and a faint echo of grape soda from childhood. This dessert beer is creamy on the palate with an explosion of sweet & tart dark fruits that come through like the intensity of a spirit but without the alcoholic bite. Finish is very, very long.

Aug 1, 2009 355 mL bottle from Whole Foods Glen Allen, VA. Pours a cherry red color with a thin head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma is currants, cherries, oak, grape. Taste is sweet berries, currants, cranberry, oak notes. Medium bodied.

Aug 1, 2009 Flaske: Rød lilla øl med et fint lille skumhoved. Duft af solbær. Smagen er tør sur og en god del solbær. Næsten for tør til min smag. Men drikbar bestemt.

Jul 28, 2009 Dark pink/purple color with a small pink head. Aroma: Sour, black curant, wood. Taste: sour, black curant, a little acid. Some wood and old cellar too. Pretty high carbonation. Very refreshing. One of my first experiences with this type of beer, but definitely not the last.

Jul 24, 2009 Deep purple colour with light purple foamy head. Intense, sweet, juicy aroma of blackcurrant. Flavour is very sweet and sharp with a lingering sweet, syrupy finish.

aroma of sweet blackcurrants, sourness and faint acidity.also a dusty note. the blackurrants seem fresh.
flavor is very strong fresh blackcurrant, faint sourness, blackcurrant flavor seems to be a little sweetened. ends nicely sour and fruity.

Jul 16, 2009 Dark red-purple, thick pinkish lavender foam with slight lacing. Simple currant jelly aroma, nicely sour, not as overly sweet as all the rest of theirs. The taste is again currants, not so artificial, sour finish, oaky. Nice.
