The nose is very fruity with lots of blackcurrant, some musty red wine, apples and a bit of woodiness presumably from the oak aging. The mouthfeel is very syrupy with light carbonation. Much like the other Lindemans lambics, the fruity sweetness is very powerful and present in the flavor. I really like sweets and blackcurrants so it really appeals to me but I can see why others might not be too fond of it. Definitely best for desert, I imagine it would go nicely with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Extremely refreshing. Papsoe (15107), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Rather acidic both from the lambic and the black currant although lots of sugar is added. But very fresh indeed. 161199 NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA

Big fluffy purple tinted head. Sweet in the initial taste, but a bit vinegary in the middle. Dry finish. My bottile is old I can tell as it has the old style label that shows the currants on the label with a purple background. So that may be why. But it still isn’t all that bad. Too sweet on the whole for my taste, but still interesting. 5000 (2634), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 7, 2005 Bottle: Deep ruby, large pink foamy head, lovely lacing. Strong, and very fresh, aroma of black currants. Sweet, yet somewhat tart black currant flavor. Very well balanced. Great body, very flavorful, and quite smooth. Fruity tart finish, with an underlying sweetness. Somehow Bottleworks ended up with the European version as it has a different label and very little english. Great stuff!!! According to the Bottleworks employees this stuff is much better than the stuff imported here, seen in the picture on the left.   A delicious mistake somewhere along the distribution line.

Sweet and sour black currant flavors. I happen to like the black currant flavors so think this is pretty nice, but not for everyone. FoolishMortal (966), San Diego, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 28, 2005 Dark ruby red color. Medium sized pinkish foamy white head. Some currant aroma notes, combine strangely with a lambic funkiness. Overpowering sweetness, with fairly mundane sourness. I found it to be too fruity. omnivore (270), San Francisco, California, USA

Just thinking about the aroma makes my tongue pucker a bit. It’s got a very soft start that slowly tightens up the tongue with the lambic tang. piscator34 (1134), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 14, 2005 Deep purple in colour with an odd pink head. This beer is really a one note wonder: loads of cassis aroma and flavor, but not much else going on. There’s not much lactic sourness, yeast, orwheat malt character at all. It starts out light on the palate, and gets a little heavy and cloying as time goes on. All of that being said, I like cassis flavor quite a bit, so this wasn’t all that bad for me.
