Lindemans Cassis Lambic

"Cork made a loud popping sound when it was removed startling me a little (ok I might have screamed like the time beercronic saw the rat in the cave). Body of the beer is deep purple and a girlish pink cap sits on top. Aroma is fruity and soapy with elements of black currant jam. Flavor is mostly consisting of black currant and has a good balance of sweet and sour. Flavor reminds me of something from my child hood but can’t put my finger on what. Flavor is much simpler than the other Lindeman’s I’ve sampled and not as powerful of a flavor but its still high quality. "

This pinkish purple lambic poured into a Boon flute with a decent light purple head and a fruit and oak aroma. There is a very pleasant taste of currants with a sour finish. If you yearn for a fruit drink this is a good one, but it is not beer-like nor is it a traditional lambic.

Hazy red with a medium creamy pink long lasting head. Sweet aroma with black currants, dark grapes and brett. Flavour was sweet and sourish with black currants, grape juice and hints of wood. Finished tart.

Purple, pink colour. Very resembling of the Kriek and Framboise that Lindemans makes. Head quickly disappears, but a thin one always remains. Taste is of blueberries. I think that tastewise Lindemans is one of the best breweries around! Palate is exactly the same as when you eat blueberries, a little "flat" for the peel and then a rich explosion in your mouth. Pretty satisfactory fruitbeer!

Pours a hazy purple with pink edges with a pinkish head. Sweet fruity aroma. Flavor is sweet upfront with a good bit of sour tartness in the finish.

Bottled. Dark ruby, firm pink head. Acidic black currants nsoe, not too sugary but more like strong old school currant juice. Flavor is more or less the same, base lambic gets totally lost, acidic spritzy finish. A bit sticky, sweet palate. yep yep, I do like ’em currants.

In my attempt at finishing off as many of Lindeman’s beers as I can, this was next on my list. I knew going into it that Lindemans is nearly always sweet, to othe point of tooth decay sweetness. They obviously know HOW to make a good beer, because Cuvee Renee is really tasty. But the others....well....

So the beer pours out a strange purple/violet wine like color, lots of carbonation with a huge pink frothy head. I give it points just because it looks so damned different. Aroma is fruity and sweet. At least Lindemans keeps it the same with most the others and if you gave it to someone who didn’t know any better, they could probably tell you it was a soda pop of some kind. Flavor is no better. Sweet, fruity, irony and earthy, like eating a berry with some dust on it. Finish does have a bit of tart to it, like eating a Sweet Tart candy. Mouthfeel is cloying.

Bottle. Pleasant tart fruit aroma. Dark red body, creamy pink head. Flavor is tartly sweet, fruity, quite refreshing. Finish evolves into an airy dryness that is tinged with fruity sugars.
