Commercial Description:
Lindemans Cassis is a lambic made from local barley, unmalted wheat, and wild yeast. After spontaneous fermentation the lambic is aged in oak. Black currants are added creating a secondary fermentation and yielding an ale of exceptional flavor and complexity.

Very nice lambic - vinegar and fruit skins, then sour fruit, fresh and sharp. Hint of grassy and yeasty nuances. Finish is sour.

Bottle. Light straw for the malt, moderate grass and musty for the hops and yeast, with strong background notes of vinegar and berry. Head is average sized, fizzy/frothy pink with excellent lacing and is fully lasting. Color is hazy light burgundy. Flavor starts moderately sweet and heavily acidic, then finishes moderately acidic, lightly bitter and a little sour. Palate is medium, watery, with a lively carbonation and has a dry finish. I’m still not a huge Fruit Lambic fan, but has got to be my favorite so far.

Aroma and flavor remind me a lot of wine. Nice dark red/purple color, thick slightly pink head. Tart. Not that great

Pours deep purple into a tumbler. Bright lilac head with excellent retention recedes to skim surface. Dark fruit and funk aromas. Dark sweet black currants. A little too sweet upfront for my taste, but turns nicely sour in the finish.

Bottle. Violet pour with red foamy head. Aroma was blueberry. Flavor was cloyingly sweet blueberry, sugar, blood, a blueberry pie that someone poured rustyy water onto, extremely backsweetened, and then labeled as a "lambic". Liquid cancer.

Bottle. Pours with a vile, pink cream puff of a head over a dark, merlot colored body. Aroma is surprisingly not nauseating, cassis, and a bit of soil, plus attic, but not sour, a bit of various other berries including cherry and raspberry. Taste is berry, dirt, metal, meat, crap, sugar and soil. Cloying. Sticky mouthfeel from so much sugar.

bottle, good deep red color with strong pink foam, aroma of sweet berries, flavor is smooth currant and strawberry but doesnt have the staying power of some of their other fruit beers

Pours a beautiful burgundy red with an attractive pink head. The head is thick and full, leaving behind nice lacing. The aroma is strongly of soured berries, sugar, and some interesting earthy qualities, like wood. Tastes of tart and sour currants with some woody & yeasty characteristics. The sweetness is powerful but complimentary to the soured fruit. Finishes again, tart and sour and is yet, nicely balanced. Overall, a very enjoyable beer.
