Amber hue. Spotty off-white head. Aromas are tart and earthy and musty. Big nose with notes of apples and dark berries. Full bodied with a big palate. Assaulting the palate. Totally fruit driven. Apples and citrus. Sugary berries. Nice candy sugar flavor. Filling and more malt driven. This is new to me, but I prefer it over the fruited lambics. This sets the bar. wheresthepath (536), Buckinghamshire, England

Smells fresh and fruity. Fruit comes through at first before the sourness hits. Thought it was too sour for me at first, but then other flavours started to come through - wood, caramel and a lot of dryness. Rather enjoyed it by the end after the slightly scary start. pompelmoes (50), Belgium

The color was light brown, cloudy. The foam disappeared quickly. Initially I thought about the swedish soda called Pommac when I sniffed at the liquid. Fruit, sugar and yeast were otherwise found in the aroma. The taste was very sweet. A certain sourness was there to balance the sweetness, but on the whole it was a little too sweet. One glass was enough, however the beer was not undrinkable. In addition to sweetness and sugar, I felt some malt, fruit and yeast in the taste. Very highly carbonated. Sweet but still ok. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 23, 2009 Pours deep amber with a medium-sized head showing great persistence and leaving some lacing.
Nice tangy, funky aroma with some goaty notes, light fruit (pears, peaches) and some acidic citrus. A hint of cheesy aroma, but faint enough so as to not detract too much from the overall experience.
Very sweet taste, lots of sugary confectionery. Some goaty notes, very mild acidic character, and finishes with a just noticeable bitterness. The sweetness is a little too intense for me.
Light body and carbonation. For a beer this sweet the carbonation really needs to be higher. joe19612 (688), camberley, Surrey, England

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 14, 2009 Bottle with big thanks to MrBunn for making sure I got a hold of this style. Pours an odd little tannish yellow, with very minimal head. Aroma is of sour, fruity funk, and that’s from a small distance! Sour green apples, lemon peel, and cherries all assault my tongue on the first taste. Very sweet to balance the sour. Carbonation is middling, and mouthfeel is a bit on the weak side. Wouldn’t drink a lot of this, but it’s a nice change-up, and I appreciate the chance to try it. Thanks Bunn!
