Dark brown-amber with a light head that fades. Aroma is woodsy - oak, slight lactic and vinegar acid presence, and some yeasty funkiness, as well as some fruity sweetness. Taste is nice: strong sour upfront fades to an oak and cherry middle that is quite sweet. Finishes with candy sweetness, bordering on cloying which is the only down point here. Nice high carbonation, quite drinkable. First faro; quite liked it. Grovlam (3810), Copenhagen, Denmark
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 24, 2007 Bottle. Small white head. Light hazy amber color. Apple, vinegar, fruit, blackcurrant mixed in with a quit sweet malt profile. Medium bodied because of the moderated sweetness, somewhat sticky texture. Flavor was sweet with light acidic. Finish was sweet with a touch of acidic. Maybe a bit to sweet for a Lambic. Need more balancing acidic, still very drinkable. Beer2000 (1828), Kristiansand, Norway

The aroma is not to distinct but delicious, a bit acid with cellar notes but also some fruit. The flavor is sweet like candy sugar but also some notes of acidic. There’s also some apple and orange peels in the flavor. Long lasting finish. Quite refreshing even as sweet it is.
Re-rated as 750ml bottle@Kristiansand lambic festival. Use to appreciate this a lot, but this time I had the chance to compare with a bunch of other lambic based beers. This is still nice and refreshing, but the score has to be modified a bit down when comparing. My comments are unchanged. (Earlier rating: 8-4-7-3-15). Mungo (2474), Southampton, Hampshire, England

Caramelised/brown sugar with slight tartness. Could be an uncomplicated thirst quencher but spoiled by excessive sweetness. rane (512), Nibe, Denmark
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Apr 16, 2007 Bottle. This is a difficult one. Amber colour with white creamy head ad good carbonation. Aroma is sour mayby a little hops, not nice. Taste sour with a lot of sugar sweetness and lots of carbonation. Too sweet and too sour for my taste.
I doubt that I´ll ever get to like these beers. kramer (2488), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 14, 2007 375 ml bottle, via Papsoe. Bottle 3 of a 4 bottle Faro tasting. Pours an orangish copper colored body with a very fine yeast haze and a one finger white head that left lots of lacing. Aroma is quite funky with a very earthy musty cork and aged leafy hop note. A little sweaty feet, and no hint of sugar. Flavor is quite sugary sweet though with minimal lambic character. Finishes a little less sweet with some musty moldy cork notes. Mouthfeel is thinner in texture with minimal to no sugary stickiness and nice lively carbonation. The most gueuze-like mouthfeel so far. This seemed to have more of an aged character to it than the others I had. The nose was actually pretty decent, but it was a let down with the heavy refined sugar flavor. Better overall than the Chapeau and St Louis because of the nose and mouthfeel of this one. NicerInPerson (337), North of Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 3, 2007 The aroma was cork and oak with a strong saccharine characteristic. The aroma was lightly tart with an acidic nature and some estery fruit character. The beer poured into the chalice clear amber with a low white well lasting head. The flavor was sweet, very, very sweet. Along with the sweetness was a light tartness and a fruity character. The sweetness was forced and unlike a cloying malt sweetness, this was that of saccharine. The finish was sweet, of course, and the body was medium with a fairly low carbonation. I had this in Belgium fresh and found it undrinkable. This bottle was much more pleasurable, but still too sweet for doing anything other than putting on a child’s pacifier. 37.5 cl corked and capped bottle, purchased at a Delhaize (Food Lion) in Brussels. cgarvieuk (4212), Edinburgh, Scotland
